3600 square foot home with a very fast router could not defeat the inconsistent signal we were receiving in the 2nf floor bonus room. With this device, not only is the signal blazing fast, the network has been 100% dependable 100% of the time. My family cannot stress thanks for the level of ease on the configuration and setup. This model has a slight lag compared to the model that cost about $5 more. So we gave it one less star. It also requires line of sight which hurts the rating. The brand is excellent and the function is about the same. My family now owns more than 6 of these in the house. The amount of internet channels will absolutely amaze you. I cannot believe that so many people remain subscribed to cable. Now that some of the channels offer DVR-type recording, it is a no brainer cost solution with minimal impact on programming options. GREAT PRODUCT!!!

my extension keep going in and out showing a red light in the extension
I highly recommend that the device is plugged directly into the wall-jack vice power strip. I would also take a look at your configuration settings on the two modes the device can transfer. A previous (inferior) signal extender did that, however, I realized that the someone was stealing our WI-FI. Lastly, I suggest that passwords are recorded and changed periodically with any of the free WI-FI apps that list all devices connected to you WI-FI network. Good luck and God Bless
