How do I know if my port uses a 2.0 or a 3.0
I have a newer laptop. My desk top is about 3 yrs older. I want to transfer my music from the desk top to the laptop. Not sure if I can use the 3.0 vs 2.0. How do I check to make sure if the 3.0 is comparable?
My understanding is that 2.0 and 3.0 refer to the speed of transfer. The size of the device is the same and therefore always usable. So anything on a 3.0 flash drive is backwards compatible to a 2.0 port just will be limited to the reduced speed. I think they use blue to distinguish 3.0 flash drives and ports.
