I bought this to try to extend the battery life of my iPod Touch 5th Gen, after it went dead on me during a concert a few weeks ago. I haven't exercised it fully yet to see how much extra battery life it will give, but I'm hoping it will at least give it more juice!

It's going to be interesting to see how they fit new movies in with Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and Agent Carter, and any other TV series they put out. All of the movies have been spectacular, though!

I was reluctant to purchase the "Steelbook" because it was more expensive, but Best Buy was offering bonus My Best Buy points for preorder of the Steelbook and not the regular blu-ray, so I decided to go with this packaging. It's stiffer than a regular blu-ray case, but, somewhat surprisingly, it's not any bigger, which is the reason I wasn't going to go with this packaging. As for the movie itself, it's Transformers, either you like them, or you don't!
Hoosiers may be one of the most loved sports films, but it has not received the attention it deserves on DVD. Originally released on DVD by Live Entertainment (now Artisan), then acquired by MGM, this disc is lacking in many ways. The image, framed at the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1, is an anamorphic transfer and shows a fair amount of grain. Still, even with the grain, the image holds up quite well, especially in the use of color. Reds, prominent throughout the film, are solid and really stand out. The sound, a Dolby Digital Surround mix, is centered up front, but is recorded far too low. It's necessary to turn up the volume in order to hear dialogue, but needs to be lowered when the rousing music begins. The only soundtrack is in English. Closed captions are available in only English. As for extras, there aren't very many. There is only a trailer, which is a real shame, as a commentary or a documentary on actual Indiana high school basketball would be a real treat. It is hard not to love this film, but one is saddened that more could not be done for the disc.

The treacherous Batiatus (John Hannah) plots to vanquish his father Gannicus (Dustin Claire and seize The House of Batiatus in this release of the epic mini-series preceding Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

I missed the series on Showtime, so I took the opportunity to pick it up cheap on a Doorbuster Black Friday deal. For the price I paid, it was a bargain.

Man of Steel is a reboot of the Superman franchise, but most people know that. To me, it had too much space seasons, more than I remembered from the original Superman movie. We'll see where they take the series with Superman vs. Batman.

Star Trek Into Darkness reunites the crew of the Enterprise... in the alternate timeline... to re-enact what most consider to be the best of the Star Trek movies, The Wrath of Kahn. There are obviously major plot differences, but the resemblance to TWOK is very apparent. Overall, I enjoyed the movie.
The Best Buy "Exclusive" online content was a nightmare. I went back and forth with CinemaNow complaining because it would never finish downloading to my Western Digital Player. They blamed the player's firmware, the hard drive, and everything else, until they finally apologized and said the extras had been removed from their service by the production company - even though Best Buy is still selling the same package I bought, with the same exclusive content. I was able to view the exclusive content on my PC, just not save it onto my WD Play device. CinemaNow compensated me by giving me a code to download any movie of my choice. The first movie I chose also had issues, though. The next movie worked fine after the CinemaNow tech support ran the code manually onto my account.
Bottom line: The movie is definitely enjoyable for what it is - another trip to the Trek alternate universe. The "extras" are nothing special, though.
