I was looking to replace my MacBook Pro and ended up looking at Best Buy for the trade-in, and found this beast of a laptop. It's a beast because its shell is ugly, in my opinion, but for other good reasons as well. I did some research to try and find if this laptop is the real deal. I thought it was, so I took the plunge. A little more backstory: I found the $100 cheaper version before this one. If you're looking at the cheaper model... seriously consider paying a bit more for this model.
Why? It's better! I wanted something with an SSD and a dedicated graphics card. This model checks that, the cheaper one does not check both. You get 256gb SSD and a GTX 1050 TI with this model. It will run many games like butter. I'm still in the process of downloading WoW fully, but this had no problems running it on max settings when I was in the game.
The unit is surprisingly light for what you're getting with it. You also get a full size keyboard, with the numpad. I would prefer more key travel, but it's not horrible. I've seen some saying the touch pad isn't that great, but I don't think it's exactly horrible in my limited use so far. It seems to have good responsiveness.
The screen is acceptable. Is it a retina screen? No, but it's a good enough 1920x1080 that it doesn't really bother me.
There is a good amount of bloatware from Dell, as another user has stated. I got rid of it all. It's not really a downside, it just takes some time to get rid of it.
Highly recommend this product for anyone in the market for a budget laptop.
