Color Adds Variety to Gameplay

I purchased this set of Joy-Con to go with my launch Gray Switch unit. I really like how vibrant the colors are in person. One cool little touch is that the Switch can recognize which color each Joy-Con is when in use. I wish the controllers separately were a little more ergonomic, but I understand the design choices that Nintendo made here. Mostly have played Snipperclips with the Joy-Con.
I've experienced zero connectivity issues with the Left Joy-Con.

I ordered this item at launch along with the Power A Charging Dock. Well, since the charging dock was delayed I decided to open the dock and charge my extra set of Joy-Con. I haven't really used the charging grip since that first day. I'm hoping once Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is released that I'll have more of a use for this accessory.
I did try using the Charging Grip during the Splatoon Global Test Fire, and the controls didn't seem as responsive as the Pro Controller. It's possible that it was the beta test itself, but after two turf wars I had to go back to the Pro.
I think once I get the charging dock, I probably won't be using the Charging Grip on a regular basis.

I ordered the wrist strap to match with my Neon Joy-Con set. I did not realize pre-launch that the Joy-Con each came with their own black wrist strap, so this purchase was a little redundant.
When I pulled out the strap and attached it to a Neon Red Joy-Con, I was disappointed to see that the colors did not perfectly match. The wrist strap has a different hue (not as bad as the blue strap). So I've been using this wrist strap with the Neon Blue Joy-Con or the Gray Joy-Con instead. That way, when two of my kids want "the pink controller" they can each have some red.
I am glad that I purchased this item, but I don't think I would recommend it to someone who wants to match it with their Neon Red Joy-Con.

Ergonomic Fit and Finish

I ordered the Pro Controller at launch in order to play The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I've tried using the Joy-Con Grip and the Joy-Con unattached, but the Pro Controller is by far the best controller setup. The larger buttons are in a more natural position. Fits very well in my hands. No connectivity issues at all.
During the recent Splatoon Global Testfire, I mainly used the Pro Controller to play. I tried the Joy-Con grip and the motion controls just did not calibrate as well as the Pro Controller.
Highly recommend getting yourself at least one Pro Controller if you plan to play longer gaming sessions.
