This thing, is light and fast (Octane score is 22-23,000. It has USB-C charging (the future) and has a great backlit keyboard and trackpad. It also appears to have a decent palm detection algorithm while typing and doesn't erratically ghost touch.
However, the bottom edges are unfinished and cut into your hand when you pick it up. Feels like a cut is bound to happen soon. We are going to try to exchange for another one, if not we will have to return it even though it is amazing!
I was worried the M3 wouldn't be enough and that we may have needed to get the M5 or M7, but the M3 is snappy fast and this is a pleasure to use. The other Chromebook we purchased initially, an ASUS 2 in 1 10" was a joke compared to this and the ASUS 2 in 1 gives Chromebooks a bad name, it was just soo slow.
PROS - USB-C charging (2 ports, both take a charge) - Light - Sexy - High resolution display - Backlit keyboard - ChromeOS gestures work nicely (three finger swipe down to show all windows etc)
CONS - Very sharp bottom edges, literally close to knife. I think it was an "oops, we forgot to sand that one" and we are going to return it and hopefully get another one.
- Hooking up a USB-C to HDMI dongle to our 1080p Toshiba results in a grainy, unviewable display UNTIL I move a window onto it and start trying to use it. Was not easy to figure that out initially, that is a bug I reported to the ChromeOS team already.
- Webcam is poor/grainy in low light, could have put a Logitech c920 in there instead
- No touch screen, I am spoiled by touch screens, all Chromebooks should have a touch screen
- Built in camera app cannot use an external webcam
