The volume limiting makes these too quiet to use on an airplane, which was their intended purchase, at least with the ipad.

We let our 3 year old use the ipad sometimes - truck games, paw patrol, etc. This makes it a little safer for him to carry around, drop it, and hold onto it. Also was nice to find it on clearance at my local store.
It's much easier to charge the ipad if I remove it from the case - they could have skipped the hole in the bottom since it's useless, at least on my ipad 2
