Terrific Performance in a Compact Design

This is one of Alienware's newest offerings in the premium gaming laptop space. With the x14 they are going for high performance and portability. The design is slim and compact as this laptop can easily slide into any backpack or briefcase with ease. It's pretty impressive to consider all that they were able to squeeze into this chassis. Here are some of the highlights...
Pros:
- The solid-state drive allows for quick boot-up speeds. Updating Windows, as you would expect, required multiple restarts and I've never been able to complete the updates on a laptop so quickly. This will also improve loading times for apps/games which is appreciated.
- 16 GB of RAM allows for as much multitasking as you would want and helps enhance your gaming experience. Some higher-end laptops are still only coming with 8 GB.
- The display is beautiful with a terrific refresh rate (144Hz). While the screen size is small (14"), this is by design for the portability of this machine. For in-home gaming you are likely to have a larger monitor to connect via HDMI anyway.
- In recent years, Alienware has improved their cooling techniques which they call "Cryo-Tech Cooling". I have found this to be very effective in both models I have owned (the x17 was the other one). Today's graphics cards run HOT so this is incredibly important.
- Gaming performance was fantastic on all games that I tested. It can handle high frame rates quite well with the RTX 3060 it has onboard.
- The packaging is beautifully crafted and underscores the quality of the product that you are purchasing.

- I would have preferred to have a full TB of storage on the SSD as 512GB can fill up pretty quickly.

If you are in the market for a portable gaming laptop, this is the one for you. I have yet to come across anything else that can perform at this level in such a compact design and look forward to many incredible gaming sessions going forward.

Having used various headphones from numerous manufacturers over the past few decades, I have high expectations for them as I know what I like. This new offering from Logitech was a pleasant surprise and checked every box for me.
First, they have multiple methods to connect to your preferred device. You can use Bluetooth or the included USB receiver (includes a USB-C adapter as well). The Logi Tune app can be used to fine tune audio settings if you wish but it is not required.
Here are some of the things I liked most about the Zone Vibe:
- Lightweight and comfortable, perfect for work or marathon gaming sessions
- The microphone muting worked flawlessly and was super convenient, simply flipping up the mic to mute yourself
- The headphones give you a verbal cue when muting or un-muting which is appreciated ("mute on" and "mute off")
- Sound quality was excellent for all purposes, including Skype/Zoom calls and listening to music
- A cloth sack is included to store the headphones when not in use. This is a welcome inclusion as even some more expensive headphones out there don't have this. They also did a great job of including a small pocket within the pouch to store the USB receiver.

Fantastic performance and value

I have used wireless ear buds from virtually every major brand out there. JVC is not always as highly regarded for their audio products as some bigger players in the space, but this product goes head to toe with them in a big way.
Pros:
- Audio quality was terrific both with music and podcasts.
- The noise-canceling worked very well. A single tap on the right ear bud will enable/disable noise canceling and let you hear or tune out ambient sound.
- Fit was solid. 3 sets of tips are included (picture included). I typically use the medium size tips with other sets, but I needed the small tips to get a good fit with these.
- Controls are simple and easy with a single tap on the left bud to pause/play and multiple taps to perform other functions like volume adjustment.
- These ear buds are a bargain at the retail price. You'll pay less but get similar, if not better, performance from more costly brands.
- Audio quality was terrific both with music and podcasts.

After spending a few days with the Zenbook Flip from ASUS, I'm convinced that it is one of the best laptops on the market.
First, the OLED screen on this 15.6" laptop is something to definitely write home about. The resolution is jaw-dropping. Whether you are streaming content on your favorite app, checking out a 4k video on Youtube, or doing some gaming, you will be incredibly impressed. Here are some of the other things that I liked:

- 2 in 1 versatility, allowing the laptop to be used as a touch screen "tablet"
- High quality onboard speakers (Harman Kardon)
- Snappy performance thanks to the i7 CPU and 16 Gigs of RAM
- The 1TB solid state drive had the Flip booting up faster than any PC I've ever owned. Reboots completed during Windows updates were also quick and painless. It almost felt like I was booting up a Chromebook with how fast I was able to get to the desktop screen.
- While this is not a laptop designed for gaming, you can certainly use it to game. The Intel Arc A370M had no trouble playing any title in my Steam library.
- The keyboard layout ASUS chose allowed for a Num pad, which I feel is important for any laptop keyboard. The track pad was also good-sized, very responsive, and comfortable to use.

Sonos has a reputation for some of the best audio products available. They usually come at a high price point, but the Ray is reasonably priced for the audio quality that you get.
Pros:
- Excellent high-end packaging. The Ray is stored safely and securely and comes wrapped in a felt pouch. A digital optical cable is included.
- Top-notch audio quality for ANY purpose (music, movies, TV). You get good bass even without the need for a separate sub-woofer.
- Built-in WiFi. I appreciated this feature when streaming music through various apps. Not having to connect over Bluetooth was nice as you don't have to worry about wandering out of range of the speaker.
- Having audio of such a high quality in a small sized speaker is fantastic for those with limited space in their entertainment center.

Efficient and Quiet Cooling

I live in south Texas and all homes tend to have central air due to the heat we get. But sometimes not all rooms will have equal cooling even with an HVAC system. For instance, my bedroom is right above my non-temperature controlled garage and also faces west. Both of these things cause the room to be much warmer than other rooms and would benefit from a supplemental AC unit in the warmer months of the year, which in Texas, is up to 8 months!
I installed this unit in my bedroom to help with the summer heat and so far it is working just as I had hoped. I no longer need to tax our AC system heavily to keep our entire home cool overnight (downstairs and upstairs) and I expect this to help with our overall electric costs. My point is, that this unit isn't just for folks that don't have AC in their homes, but can also be an excellent supplemental option.
Many consumers might not be familiar with the U-Shaped design of this system. Installation is more complex than with traditional AC units but there are benefits to that. Your window will be nearly all the way closed after install and provides you with some freedom to open the window wider as needed after install. The install can be done solo but I recommend having a second person to help you, especially if you are installing on a second story.
The remote control is a welcome accessory and provides all of the functionality you would want. You don't have to get out of bed if the room is too hot or too cold as you are trying to fall asleep. But with the temp settings, you should be able to keep the room at your favorite temperature all the time. While this unit does not have Wi-Fi, I don't think it would be incredibly useful anyway unless you were looking to "pre-cool" your room/home by turning it on remotely when you are on your way home. One of the best things about this AC unit is how quietly it can cool. The sound does not bother me at all while trying to sleep and you can also hear television over it without difficulty.
I found the price of this AC unit to be a bargain for what you are getting. The cooling was better than expected and I love the installation design. I would definitely recommend this model to anyone in need of some indoor cooling!

Excellent Gaming Monitor

I have had a few days now to put this monitor through its paces and I have been very pleased.
I hooked up my Alienware x17 (running an RTX 3070) to this 27" monitor and the extra 10" of screen real estate was very welcomed. I find 27" to be the "sweet spot" between monitors that are too small or too big for gaming purposes.
I love the design of the monitor base, providing not just a sturdy foundation, but also having a convenient gap to feed cords through to keep your gaming station neat. I don't have a VESA set-up, but it's nice to know that this monitor is designed to be compatible if I do upgrade in the future.
The refresh rate (165Hz) allowed for very smooth visuals on any game I tested within my Steam library. I highly recommend adjusting the color and brightness to meet your personal preferences though, as the defaults are not great.
I also took some time to use this monitor for basic duties like web browsing and streaming video. I'm happy to report that this monitor was more than capable and movies/shows looked terrific. It is safe to say that this monitor will work well for any purpose.
Overall this monitor is a great buy, but especially for gamers. Check it out!

Great features, excellent price point

This is my first fitness tracker and I have been very pleased with its features and functionality.
Part of my hesitancy about using a fitness band was that I don't like bulky watches or anything heavy on my wrist full time that could cause discomfort, especially during sleeping hours. I was pleased that the Halo View has a slim form factor and is extremely light weight. I hardly notice it while sleeping.
Battery life is solid, as I can go about a week in between needing a charge. I'll plug it in when I take a shower and it takes under an hour to top off the battery.
Features that I've enjoyed include:
- detailed reports on your prior nights sleep (what percentage of time did you get REM sleep?)
- the built in stopwatch is very helpful for my kid's soccer practice/games!
- step counter
- heart rate monitor
- estimates on calories burnt in the day

Terrific Picture and Sound Quality

I have used several projectors over the years and projector tech just keeps getting better, improving features and getting more affordable. After using the Epson Home Cinema 2200, I am very pleased with its performance.
Pros:
- The built in Android TV is excellent. Simply log into your google account, install any apps you plan to use, and you are off and running. Set up was very simple and quick. I was up and running within 5 minutes. You will want to plan to install firmware updates though, shortly after set-up, but this process is also quick and easy.
- Picture quality is top-notch. While this projector is 1080p and not 4k, it's pretty difficult to tell the difference with the naked eye. You could spend more on a 4k projector but I don't feel it is necessary.
- Onboard audio is terrific. This projector has the best built-in speakers I have ever heard. This is very important if you plan to ever take your projector on the go or for an outdoor event.
- Syncing the remote via Bluetooth was easy and I appreciate not having to point it at the projector for it to work.

Great Look, Poor Audio Quality

This is the second pair of Bluetooth sunglasses that I have owned. The first pair was from a high-end company well known for their audio products. These sunglasses from Lucyd were better in some ways, and worse in others.
Pros:
- The look/style of these sunglasses was a strong positive. I would wear these just for their looks, whether or not they had onboard Bluetooth speakers.
- All the accessories that you would want are provided, including a pouch and hard case. The fold-out hard case is very nicely designed and impressed me.
- The onboard mic worked well when I triggered the Google Assistant.
- The look/style of these sunglasses was a strong positive. I would wear these just for their looks, whether or not they had onboard Bluetooth speakers.

Cons:
- Audio quality was poor. The sound is tinny and all treble with no bass whatsoever. Listening to music was not enjoyable at all as your favorite songs will not sound like you expect. Even podcasts didn't sound great, but they were were more tolerable than music.
- The included charging cables connect magnetically which is nice, but if you jostle the glasses slightly they can come loose. I'd like to see more secure connections in future designs.
- The glasses need to be turned on twice with 2 different buttons (one on each side). But you can turn them off by holding just one of the 2 buttons. This seems like a very strange design choice. To pause/play, these buttons can be pressed twice. Why not just once? Another strange design choice.
- Audio quality was poor. The sound is tinny and all treble with no bass whatsoever. Listening to music was not enjoyable at all as your favorite songs will not sound like you expect. Even podcasts didn't sound great, but they were were more tolerable than music.
- The included charging cables connect magnetically which is nice, but if you jostle the glasses slightly they can come loose. I'd like to see more secure connections in future designs.
- The glasses need to be turned on twice with 2 different buttons (one on each side). But you can turn them off by holding just one of the 2 buttons. This seems like a very strange design choice. To pause/play, these buttons can be pressed twice. Why not just once? Another strange design choice.
With what I feel are better options on the market, I would avoid these sunglasses until they can improve the audio quality. If they can do that, they would be a solid option.

There is no Aux audio output jack. It does not connect via bluetooth. It connects to your home's Wi-Fi network the same way a chromecast device does. Having a chromecast is optional, as you can have audio come directly from the Home device, or have it played through a chromecast connected TV.

No, any other services you use with this device would be optional. You can use free Pandora/Spotify/Google Play Music account with it, or a paid subscription, among other services.
