A portable PC with a large and beautiful display

Have you ever wished that your desktop PC could easily be moved around the house to work out of different rooms? If so, HP has your solution. The HP Envy Move combines the convenience of a laptop and the luxury of a large (23.8") QHD display. You can work out of your kitchen in the morning and then, with one hand, carry your work station to your home office for the afternoon. After using this for the past week, here are my thoughts.
Pros:
- The engineering/design is very impressive. From the carrying handle (see pictures) that conveniently magnetizes to the back of the screen, to the legs that automatically pivot out as you gently set the PC down at your desired location, you can tell that a lot of love and care went into this product.
- The specs are nice for the price point of this system. Besides the beautiful QHD touch screen, you are getting 8 GB of RAM, a more than capable i5 processor, and a 512 GB solid state drive that provides you with incredibly fast boot up speed.
- The rear pocket is a very cool design choice that allows you to slide in the included Bluetooth keyboard as you move from place to place.
- The battery life has been good so far. I can easily go several hours without plugging in to power. The display is so big I frequently forget that it has a rechargeable battery and doesn't need to be plugged in!

Best Earbuds on the Planet!

Bose has been making some of the best audio products for years and their latest noise cancelling earbuds do not disappoint. I have used earbuds from numerous manufacturers over the years, and Bose tends to lead the way at every turn. This product is about as close to perfect as you can get.
Pros:
- Set up was simple. I had already had the Bose Music app installed on my phone since I have other Bose products, and as soon as I opened the earbud case my phone alerted me that there was a new device ready to connect. You gotta love the automation/simplicity!
- Audio quality was top notch. I have been listening to music, podcasts, and streamed shows over the past several days. All of them sounded fantastic.
- The listening modes all have great purposes and are easy to toggle with a single short press on either ear-bud. "Quiet" mode is when you want to avoid all ambient sound and avoid distractions. "Aware" is for when you want to be able to hear things around you and engage others without having to remove an earbud. "Immersion" mode was my preferred method for music, but not for podcasts. Immersion mode made music sound fuller and somehow like it was coming from all around me instead of being fed directly into my ears. It's hard to explain but it really made listening to songs I've heard a hundred times sound new and different in an amazing way.
- The customization you would want in a high-end product like this is present. In the Bose app you can fine tune audio settings to your liking and can toggle other things like which earbud you would like to use to activate your voice assistant.
- The fit for me with the medium eartips was perfect. Small and large tips are also included, as are a variety of stability bands for your outer ear fit. I haven't seen another company offer the stability bands as an option in their designs. Perhaps it's patented? But they certainly help provide a more secure fit for anyone using these earbuds during physical activity.
- Battery life is good at 6 hours per charge. But if you use "Immersion" mode it will cut 2 hours off of that time. And of course you can charge them back up in the case while you are on the go.
- Touch controls work perfectly. It is very easy to skip tracks, pause, etc. Raising and lowering volume requires just a short swipe up or down on either ear. I've never had earbud controls be so intuitive and work so precisely before.

Great Smart Clock for Kids

This is the 2nd smart display I have experience with, but the first made by Amazon. It is made specifically for children so I turned this into some father/son bonding time as we set it up together and figured out how to best operate it. Here were my thoughts after spending a few days helping and observing my son use the device.
Pros:
- There are some nice and unique features on the Echo Show 5 Kids. First, during set-up, it allowed us to choose the voice that my son would interact with. So instead of the default Alexa voice, he gets to speak with an AI dragon (that sounds like a kid his age). It's almost like having an imaginary friend come to life.
- The variety of clock themes was nice. My son chose a green one with foliage (pictured) that was his favorite. You can see the current weather and date as well. He doesn't have a great concept of weather and time/date tracking so this is going to help him learn more about that.
- The video calling feature is awesome. The audio and video quality is excellent. My son can call me from this clock (not needing a phone or tablet) no matter where I am. I can be home or out shopping and through the Alexa app, he'll ring through to me. He's too young to have his own phone, so it's nice that he has a way to call his parents if needed.
- The camera/mic has a nice shutter feature to turn them off for privacy purposes.
- The Amazon Kids apps were mostly useful. They can read bedtime stories, play music, and engage your kids with interactive learning experiences. The music choices were solid, with the Trolls soundtrack being a big hit with my son. All of these features come free for one year with the purchase of this device.

Impressive Sound and Features

I have had the opportunity to use several different Bluetooth speakers from Logitech over the years, and this is the largest and loudest of them all. If you are looking for a portable speaker that will fill large spaces with strong bass and comes with a lot of nice bonus features, this is a great choice. Here are my thoughts:
Pros:
- First, audio quality is outstanding. I've never been disappointed by Logitech UE products before and they continue to impress. The bass can really pound for a portable speaker and can fill rooms of any size. If you want to fine tune audio settings, you can do so with their BOOM app. One of my favorite features of this speaker is that the sound comes out in a full 360 degrees. You can hear it well no matter which side of the speaker you are on.
- It is perfect for beach/pool parties as it can handle sand and water. I didn't test this claim, but Logitech boasts 30 minutes of survival time if it were to be underwater!
- This speaker has impressive battery life and Bluetooth range. You'll get up to 17 hours on a single charge. And if you are wandering far from your speaker, you shouldn't see many interruptions in playback with a range of 55 feet.
- For outdoor events, I found the attached strap to be handy. You can hook it around a tree branch for elevated sound (great for camping). And I like the magnetic tab on the end which secures the strap neatly to the speaker if it is not being used. This was a cool design choice. Also for outdoor events, this speaker has a unique "Outdoor Boost" button to help spread the sound out better when needed.

- I'm not a fan of the design choice for the base of the speaker. It has a paint-splatter / starry sky design that kind of makes the speaker look like it could be dirty or scuffed up.

Impressive High End Soundbar

I have used numerous soundbars over the years from virtually every major manufacturer, and this is my second Bose soundbar. The first one that I used years ago was, at the time, the best Soundbar I had experienced. So I was looking forward to seeing what one of their newest models could do.
Pros:
- A quick start guide was provided, but the Bose Music app does all the work for you. The app will detect your new device via bluetooth and then connect to your home’s Wi-Fi. Within minutes it was installing a firmware update for me. The download and install of the update took about 15 minutes. You will need to create a Bose account if you don’t already have one, or use your Apple ID or Facebook to log in.
- At the end of the set-up process on the app you will be asked to enable AI Dialogue mode. You will want to choose to do so, as this feature helps with garbled conversations that are difficult to make out coming from other speakers.
- This soundbar has built-in chromecast so if you are using it without a smart TV or without a streaming box of some kind, no problem! Alexa is also built-in if you want to use it as a smart speaker.
- Audio quality was fantastic whether I was watching movies, concerts, or streaming my favorite music playlists over Bluetooth. Dolby Atmos truly makes a difference when you are watching blockbuster movies, allowing you to feel more immersed. And if what you are watching is not Dolby Atmos-ready, Bose TrueSpace tech “upmixes” the audio track to make it more immersive than it would have been otherwise. This reminded me of how other tech upscales non-HD video content. Older movies I tested out sounded much better than how I remembered them.

- Right after fine-tuning the audio settings with the included ADAPTIQ headset, I got a message in the app saying “something went wrong” when trying to move on to the next step of the set-up process . I had to close out of the app and restart it. Luckily, it picked up where I was at and was good to go after that.

Our G Series is getting a new entry with the G6 Commute. An updated frame and design with an added LED under light to the deckboard are sure to make you stand out whenever you take the G6 Commute out for a ride. The integrated cable lock also provides you with a new level of security.

Good power, solid build quality, smooth ride!

This is the second electric scooter I have owned, but my first from GoTrax. This G6 model was MUCH better than my last scooter that was similarly priced, in pretty much every way.
Pros:
- The power that this scooter has was impressive. I was able to climb fairly steep hills without any difficulty. Acceleration was great, but you can control how aggressively you want to accelerate as the switch is well designed.
- The weight allowance is 264 pounds. I'm 175 and it felt very sturdy under my weight and I have no doubt that larger folks can ride easily.
- Set-up was pretty simple and could probably be done without instructions. I just had to lift up the steering column, connect a power cable, insert the handlebars, and insert 4 screws. But you definitely need instructions on how to operate the scooter as there is a bit of a learning curve.
- Having 3 speed settings was nice. I almost always used "D" mode which maxes at 15.5MPH. The max performance mode ("S") can get you up to 20MPH. I don't use this much unless I'm in an area without sharp turns and without motor vehicles nearby. But it's nice to have if you have some safe straightaways to punch it!
- The locking features are nice to have. There's a default number code you use when first starting up the scooter and can change it to whatever 3 digit number you want. You'll have to enter the number each time you turn it on. This doesn't prevent someone from carrying your scooter off, but they can't ride away on it at 20MPH as they won't have access to power without the code. A physical anti-theft device is also built-in if you like that option. A personal 4 digit code for this lock can also be created.
- The headlight, rear light (brake light), and atmosphere lights along the base all function well. The atmosphere lights are a nice feature for night riding so other people/drivers can see you from the side.
- The console display is well designed, giving you all the information you need but not being too cluttered. I particularly liked having a mileage tracker. And having a single button to toggle most functions keeps things simple.

Overall, I was very pleased with this scooter and love seeing how newer models keep getting better and better as the technology keeps improving. Nice job GoTrax! I think they made a great scooter here.

I have used earbuds from many brands and Sony always remains among my favorites. These have noise canceling features so I was looking forward to that as I have a pair of Sony C500’s without noise canceling. I was not disappointed with the C700N’s.
Pros:
- First, the price point for these is fantastic. It’s not easy to get high quality, AND noise canceling, AND a good price. Sony is providing all of that here.
- They have a comfortable and stable in-ear fit. I can wear these on the move without issue. The default medium silicone tips were the best fit for me, but they also include small and large sizes.
- Set-up was easy. I was prompted to install the “Headphones” app on my phone right after connecting to bluetooth and then got notified of a firmware update right away which was easy to do. I loved the customization options in the app as you can adjust the controls to your liking. Do you want the left or right earbud to turn noise canceling on/off? You can change this and other regular functions. I also liked being able to see the remaining power level in the case to help decide if I should charge it.
- Sound quality, as usual with Sony products, was excellent for both music and podcasts. I’ve heard better, but only with much more expensive products.

Good power for tall/thick grass!

This is my 3rd electric mower I've used over the last 15 years, but my first from Greenworks. It was, by far, the most powerful of the three and I was very pleased overall. I don't ever plan to go back to gas mowers as electric mowers require almost no maintenance and still do a great job. You don't have to worry about having a gas tank around, there's no oil to check/change, you don't have to yank/pull start the engine, etc.
Pros:
- All of the features you would want in a mower are present with an optional side chute, mulch plug, and rear bag. I always mulch where I live in Texas and this feature worked great for me with clippings being hardly visible when I was done. Before and after pictures of my latest mowing are attached.
- The self-propelling feature comes in very handy since this mower is fairly heavy. There are a lot of twists and turns in my yard so getting a break on the straightaways was appreciated. It will take you about one mowing job to get comfortable with the controls. There is a learning curve with engaging/disengaging the self-propelling, but it is intuitive once you get used to it.
- Battery life was very good and I love how fast it charges. I've found that the power from this lithium ion battery helps me cut taller grass and weeds than my last mower with a lead acid battery. My yard is average in size for a subdivision home at around a 1/4 acre. I can do the whole yard in one charge if I don't use the self-propel feature. The battery will drain much faster if you do. My ongoing plan is to mow my front yard, plug the battery in to top off the charge while I edge the front yard, then finish off the back yard with plenty of power to spare. The battery can charge in ~30 minutes so I don't see a need to buy a second battery.
- Greenworks has an assortment of other lawn care devices that use the same battery so it can be multi-purpose. When I need to replace my current hedge-trimmers and edger I will likely go with Greenworks.

The Citizen Watch company has been around for over a hundred years so they know what they are doing in the watch industry. Just recently they waded into the smart watch category and I had mixed results with this device.
Pros:
- They really make a beautiful watch. If you want the functionality of a smart watch / fitness tracker but prefer the style of traditional watches, this is for you.
- The band size is adjustable and just requires a little fine tool work.
- I liked the personalization options for the display that were available and easily found a preferred set-up that provided all the key data points that I care about.
- Charging was quick and painless, taking ~30 minutes to get a full charge.

Lightweight, Portable, and Budget Friendly

Over the past few years, when computing on the go, I have mostly stuck with Chromebooks for their portability, quick boot times, and affordability. This Inspiron model from Dell provided me with all that I like about Chromebooks, but also provided added versatility that you get with a Windows OS.
Pros:
- The 14" HD display looks great and is a perfect size for me to enable both portability and productivity.
- The inclusion of a solid state drive helps this laptop keep a slim form factor and I loved the fast boot times that it provides. I'm used to Chromebooks booting up in seconds and Windows devices taking up to a couple minutes. The Inspiron 3420 boots up incredibly fast and retrieves files faster than hard drives that most people are accustomed to. There is also less drain on the battery with a SSD which seemed to help extend my battery life during my first few days using this laptop. I was pleasantly surprised to go a full day without having to plug in.
- This was the first laptop with a Snapdragon processor that I have used and I felt it was more than powerful enough to keep me running smoothly. Paired with 8GB of RAM, I was satisfied with how quickly apps launched and the ability to multitask.
- The price point for this laptop is good, considering how solid the specs are.

There is no Aux audio output jack. It does not connect via bluetooth. It connects to your home's Wi-Fi network the same way a chromecast device does. Having a chromecast is optional, as you can have audio come directly from the Home device, or have it played through a chromecast connected TV.

No, any other services you use with this device would be optional. You can use free Pandora/Spotify/Google Play Music account with it, or a paid subscription, among other services.
