Incredible Sound and Beautiful Retro Style

I have owned many speakers made by various manufacturers over the years, and this one ranks among the best when it comes to audio quality and aesthetic appeal.
Pros:
- First, this speaker has basically everything that you would want in a modern audio product: Great sound, a beautiful design, Smart features, and flexible functionality.
- Music and podcasts both sound great. The bass really thumps through a downward firing woofer.
- The knobs to adjust volume, treble, and bass feel very elegant and high-end as you rotate them. The face of the speaker has terrific texture and look, giving it the old-school feel that a person in their late 40's like me can appreciate.
- This speaker is compatible with both Google Assistant and Alexa, giving you the choice of smart assistant that you prefer. Most speakers are only one or the other.
- A USB-C port is included in the rear, allowing you to charge phones/tablets. This is a welcome feature that many speakers lack. Additional features include an Ethernet port, an AUX port, and a switch to turn the onboard mic off if you don't plan to use the assistant (or like the privacy).
- This speaker is not powered by a lithium-ion battery and needs to be plugged into an outlet. This can be a good thing as it extends the life of the product as batteries can fail over the years. Keep this in mind as it does limit portability. This is designed to be a home speaker.

After restarting the app, the settings showed the device was up to date so I guess the firmware update did work after all. This was the only reason I did not give this speaker 5 stars.

Solid Performance at a Great Price

Some people like to build their own gaming PCs. But if you are like me, you like others to do the work for you and simplify the process. The HP Omen 25L gaming desktop does a great job of that.
Pros:
- Set up was a breeze. There was ZERO bloatware on this machine! I was able to sign in with my Microsoft account and get all the latest driver and Windows updates settled within less than 20 minutes. I believe the solid state drive played a significant role in abbreviating the update/restart/repeat process. The boot up speed for this machine is incredibly fast.
- Speaking of the solid state drive, I don't think I'll ever be able to use an old-school hard drive again. Apps and games load incredibly quickly and the machine runs very quietly without the moving parts of a hard drive.
- The 7600 series graphics card from AMD along with 16GB of RAM allowed me to play any and all games in my Steam and Origin libraries. While there are better graphics cards on the market, you would be paying a much higher price. And I was able to get by just fine with this one.
- If I choose to upgrade my graphics card (or any other components) in the future, the case design allows for simple removal of the glass side panel. All you have to do is push a release button on the back and the panel slides right off (see pictures).
- The LEDs lighting up the fan and RAM were a nice touch and give this rig that "cool" factor that many gamers appreciate.

Great for Peace of Mind...and Camping!

I've had back-up battery packs in the past, enough to charge my phone a few times, but I've never had something like this that could really come in handy in an emergency. I've always wanted the peace of mind to keep devices charged and the home lit in case of an extended power outage, and this generator does the trick.
While you won't be running many heavy duty appliances with it like HVAC systems, what it will do for you is keep your emergency devices powered up (phones, tablets, etc), run most smaller appliances, and give you multiple methods to keep the generator itself charged up. It can be charged by your standard electrical outlet, the auxiliary power outlet in your car (cable included), or by using a USBC charging cable (not included) that you may already have in your home for other devices. There is a 4th way to charge this generator if you own a solar panel and also the necessary adapter/connector to plug in to the DC port. I have a solar panel but need to shop for the right adapter.
Things I liked:
- The LED light helps you see what you are doing in the event of an emergency (which is probably why you have this device to begin with). It is also very handy for lighting up a small area like a tent when camping.
- The display provides you with some very useful information including estimated time to recharge, how many watts are being used at a given time, and estimated remaining power % based on current power usage. For instance, when I have the battery near full charge and turn the LED light on, it tells me I have about 59 hours of power left.
- The power saving mode is a welcome feature to keep you from overcharging or wasting power with devices that are left plugged in. The charging is automatically stopped when devices reach capacity.
- The 5 year warranty is pretty impressive.
- Back-up power without needing to fire up a gas generator? Sign me up!

Gets the job done, but was challenging to set up

I've used a set of Arlo security cameras in the past and was very happy with them. I expected a similar experience with this new model but that was not the case.
Pros:
- While it was difficult to set up, being able to connect directly to your home's WiFi is a nice feature. Having extra hubs connected to your router can take up space and ruin aesthetics.
- Video quality was excellent both live and during playback.
- The alarm feature is something I plan to use. I like how when you get a notification that motion has been detected, you have an immediate option to sound the alarm. I can't wait to test this out on unwanted solicitors that show up at my door. The volume is loud, but not to the point where you would get hearing damage.
- While it was difficult to set up, being able to connect directly to your home's WiFi is a nice feature. Having extra hubs connected to your router can take up space and ruin aesthetics.

- I am not a fan of the Arlo Secure app. It just wasn't user-friendly and didn't seem modern, as if it was designed 10 years ago.
- I could not get the microphone to work without an echo. Hopefully a firmware update can fix this in the future.

Very Affordable, but with Limitations

If you are on a tight budget but really need to have a computer that runs Windows, this is probably your best option. However, as you would expect with a laptop with such a low price point, there are drawbacks.
Pros:
- The size is terrific for portability. It's very light and easy to fit into any carrying case or backpack
- The display is very nice, considering the price (720p HD)
- It is automatically set up in Windows S mode for security/performance. S mode prevents non-Microsoft apps from being installed. This is a good option if a child is using it, as kids can easily find a way to accidentally install malware. Adults will want to disable S mode so that they can use the device more freely, including using a browser of their choice. In S mode, you must use Microsoft Edge.

Impressive Picture AND Audio

This projector is high-end and uses new Laser tech in order to give it significant advantages over traditional projectors. It provides some pretty fantastic features and the best picture I have seen in any home projector.
Pros:
- The picture quality is top notch (see photos). 4k content was beautiful, and I even watched some old-school cartoons in standard definition. They really popped!
- You don't need a pitch black room to use this projector. This tech allows for moderately lit rooms to still display the image clearly because of how brightly it projects.
- With this projector, you no longer need to worry about where/how to mount it! It can simply be placed where a TV would be, roughly a foot from the wall, and the image will be projected up to a 120" diagonal. And since it is placed so close to the wall, you no longer have issues with people walking in front and casting shadows.
- Most people will want to connect a soundbar via the HDMIarc or the optical port, but the onboard speakers (Yamaha) are really quite good!
- This image seemed to auto focus, although there is a dial to fine-tune as needed. But I didn't need to tweak it ever.
- There is less heat and noise than traditional projectors. You can barely hear the fan and much less heat is kicked out, which is super annoying with older projector tech.
- Since the laser tech can be dangerous to look at, a safety feature detects when people get close and it shuts down the projection. This is great for folks with kids that don't know any better!
- Android TV provides a convenient hub to run all of your favorite apps and stream your favorite content. It was easy to set up through my Google account.

Whether your mess is wet or dry, the Roomba Combo i5+ robot vacuum and mop can double up on cleaning tasks with one machine. From spilled crackers to every day shoe prints—this robot can handle it. Set it to vacuum only or vacuum & mop your hard floors by swapping in the Roomba Combo Bin.

Solid Power and Nice Features

I have owned robot vacuums from many different manufacturers, but this was my first Roomba by iRobot. This is one of their newest models that has both vacuuming and mopping features, as well as a self-emptying dock.
Pros:
- The suction power was very good. I've had vacuums struggle to pick up cheerios off the kitchen floor before but this Roomba had no issues. Carpeted floors looked great after a single lap.
- The app allows you to map rooms and schedule cleanings when, where, and however often you like.
- Despite having good suction power, this vacuum is not very loud. You can run it while watching television and not be distracted.
- The mopping feature works well, but I don't anticipate using it very often. It doesn't save you much time and you can get a more thorough cleaning the old-fashioned way.
- I was impressed by this Roomba's ability to navigate between chair legs under my dining room table (see picture). This is something other vacuums have struggled with greatly in the past as they would get stuck and call for help. This iRobot could find its way in and out without issue.

Excellent Budget Drone

Many drones on the market are quite pricey. The Snaptain E20 is a cost friendly drone that can still provide many of the features you are probably looking for. This was my first drone, and I was pleasantly surprised with its capabilities.
Pros:
- The set up process was pretty simple. The provided instructions are more than sufficient to get you going.
- The controller has a phone mount that worked perfectly for me, holding it securely in place. I connected an older android smart phone and was able to run the app smoothly.
- The app provides a beautiful live stream of what your drone's camera sees. And the controller has a cool function that lets you pivot the camera up and down, zoom, and also gives you access to convenient trigger buttons to take photos or record a video.
- The best thing about this drone is the price. Drones can easily be lost or broken, so I love that if that happens, I will not feel as bad as if I had spent a ton of money.
- Lastly, this drone seems well built and was able to hold up just fine when I would accidentally fly into some bushes or land with more force than intended.

High Quality at a Great Price

This is not my first Android phone, as I have owned other Pixel releases, so I was looking forward to seeing the improvements they made with this model.
The first thing I love about Pixel phones is that the hardware is made by Google. When paired with their Android OS, you can tell that there is an advantage when the same company is providing both the hardware and software. Everything works smoothly and seamlessly. And from my experience, Pixel phones tend to get the latest and greatest OS updates before most other Android phones.
The Pixel 8 continues the tradition of having a very good camera. This model comes with a 50 megapixel front-facing camera. I got some great shots at a high school football game the other night and was impressed with the crispness of the colors and the fantastic resolution (see photo). The included photo editing tools are always top-notch if you need to make any tweaks.
The battery life has been the most impressive thing about the Pixel 8 so far. I went over 2 days before needing to charge it, even while using it more than I would normally during the first few days of owning it.
This model comes with 128GB of storage which is more than enough for pretty much anyone. I also love the display which has a 120Hz refresh rate. The scrolling was incredibly smooth.
One last thing that stood out as a cool feature is that when adding contacts, people's addresses would autocomplete after I started to input them. This was really cool and saved me a lot of time.
Overall, this is a great phone that not only comes with fantastic features, but is a terrific value even when not on sale. So many of the new phones out there are priced at $1000 or more but you can get great quality at a fraction of the price with the Pixel 8.

Affordable and Versatile Gaming Laptop

Gamers shopping for laptops these days have a lot of options. The G15 model from Dell falls in the mid-range from a price and performance perspective and is perfect for people on a budget that still want to play newer games at decent settings.
After spending nearly a week with this laptop, I found that I was able to play any game in my Steam library without issue and experienced beautiful visuals on the HD screen (with a 120Hz refresh rate) and strong frame rates. While this is not an Alienware branded laptop, Dell owns the brand and gives you access to their Alienware Command Center. This is a very handy hub to monitor your performance (primarily CPU, GPU, Memory, and thermals). While you can fine tune settings if you want, I like the convenience of choosing between the presets including a battery saver mode, quiet mode, a balanced mode, and the high performance mode. Be prepared for a loud fan to kick in for performance mode, but this is important in order to keep your processors cool. One other nice thing about the Command Center is that it will show you all of your installed games so you can use this app as a lunching pad for your gaming sessions.
The specs are solid all around on this laptop. You get plenty of RAM (16 GB), a good CPU, and a graphics card that can handle all but the most demanding of games on their highest settings. The solid state drive, thankfully, comes with a full terabyte of storage which is critical if you are using this laptop for gaming. The added benefit of solid state is that your boot and load times are much shorter.
If you are shopping around for a new laptop and want to get the best bang for your buck, the G15 is a great option to consider!

Hold down either button on either earbud for 3-4 seconds and you will hear a message "ready to be paired". Then select the LG option that shows up on the device you are searching from. It will show up in your list as "LG HBSF110 Master".

Does the Google Home have an Aux audio output jack? Does it support audio output via Bluetooth or do I have to buy a Chromecast in order to get audio out of the Google Home?
There is no Aux audio output jack. It does not connect via bluetooth. It connects to your home's Wi-Fi network the same way a chromecast device does. Having a chromecast is optional, as you can have audio come directly from the Home device, or have it played through a chromecast connected TV.

No, any other services you use with this device would be optional. You can use free Pandora/Spotify/Google Play Music account with it, or a paid subscription, among other services.

Yes, but not on the latest iPhone 7 which does not have a headphone jack.
