Good but you need a license to get max range

It's hard to blame Cobra for this since it applies to all walkie-talkies but it is important. You aren't allowed to use the more powerful channels in the U.S. without the appropriate FCC license (about $60 per person). The channels you can use have about a mile effective range. This will be true of all radios.

Do they come with a charger or just work with batteries?
The batteries they come with are rechargeable and so long as you are using rechargeable batteries you can just use each walkie talkie's micro USB port (on the top) to charge the batteries.

i lost my manual, ive tried the cobra website, but none for this exact model. where else can i get it?
Call Cobra's help line (1-866-721-3805). I needed to send my two friends a copy of the manual, so Cobra e-mailed me the correct one.
