As originally broadcast on NBC from September 1968 through August 1975, the series Adam 12 brought Dragnet mainstay Jack Webb his second major hit on network television, albeit not in a starring but a producing capacity, through his Mark VII Ltd. shingle. Adam starred two relative unknowns, Kent McCord and Martin Milner, as, respectively, Jim Reed and Pete Malloy, patrol car officers of the Los Angeles Police Department, whose day-to-day brought them into one-on-one contact with a wealth of situations ranging from the devastating to the inconsequential. Adam 12 ran for seven seasons; Season Six ran from September 12, 1973 through March 13, 1974, and contained 24 episodes, all of which appear in this comprehensive box set, full and complete as they originally aired. Installments include: Krash, Tasking it Easy, North Hollywood Division, Trouble in the Bank and many more.
As a former patrol officer, this program brought back many memories of my days on the force. Although it is somewhat outdated, the procedural elements of the show are very accurate. It depicts the highs and lows of law enforcement in an entertaining way!
