Kit didn't fit through our hole in floor

the expandable section was slightly too large for the hole in the floor, so decided to check out if we could get a piece that would fit at Home Depot, and we could. For only a few dollars we bought the pieces needed to hook up the vent. We would have returned the Kit that was sent(since it was $26.99), but the delivery man cut a 6" piece of the expandable piece off, even though He knew it was too big. I guess he was showing us how to do it??? Not necessary!!
