Warm meals and snacks in this Haier microwave. It's an over-the-range model, so it doesn't take up counter space, and it has a spacious 1.4 cu. ft. capacity, so you can heat a whole meal at once. This Haier microwave is made from stainless steel, which resists staining and provides long-lasting use.

May not install as expected.

WARNING: If you install this MW according to the MFG directions, you may not be able to open the door! Here's the issue.
The entire front face is hinged as the door, and it wraps around on the left such that the hinge itself is set back from the front plane of the door. In order for the "door" to open, the entire unit must be set far enough forward for the hinge-proper to clear the front of the adjacent cabinet.
This is not stated in any of the manuals, which actually depict it being installed with the front panel flush with the front plane of the adjacent cabinets. Again, this will not work. It must stick out far enough for the hinge to clear the adjacent cabinet. (Unless you have several inches of open space to the left of the unit.)
Haier lists the depth of the MW at 16.5". IF your upper cabinets are a so-called "standard" 12" deep, it may install and operate as expected (though its front will not be flush with the plane of your cabinets - which you may or may not care about in terms of looks). If your upper cabinets are deeper (mine are 15" plus doors), it will be necessary to customize the mounting, and adapt the templates, to compensate.
Also note that if the fan is used in recirculating mode, there is a charcoal filter which Haier recommends be replaced at least once every 6 months. But that filter cannot be accessed without uninstalling the unit, as you must remove the top cover of the MW to change the filter.
Unfortunately there are few alternatives for a 24"-wide over-range microwave, and this one offers a nice range of features. I am rating it 3-stars because I haven't had it in use yet, to judge its performance as an appliance. So 2-stars off for the design problems and bad installation info; 3-stars for giving it the benefit of the doubt on performance.
I would CONDITIONALLY recommend this to a friend.

This model's specs fit in my existing cutout with 1/2 inch to spare on the width. Does the door need additional width to open? It looks like maybe the whole front swings open, and I am worried there won't be space for door to open fully.

Basically, yes. If the front face is flush with the front plane of the adjacent cabinet you will need a several inch open gap to the left, for the "door" to swing open.

Alternatively, if the front of the MW is pushed a few inches more out front of the front plane of the cabinets, then you can mount it flush up against the cabinet, sidewall to sidewall. Haier lists the MW depth as 16.5" and I'm guessing they expect it to be mounted alongside a 12" deep cabinet, which probably would allow the front of the MW to push out forward far enough for the hinge to clear. My cabinets were 15" deep (plus 3/4" for the door), so I had to get creative.

This is not how it is depicted in the installation guide, but it is how it works.
