There are a lot of options now with web based office software, but everyone still tries to be microsoft and you can't substitute what your workplace is using. While I prefer the buy and own, the new method of buying a annual subscription keeps you up to date and a TB of storage space online.

My son really wanted the Alienware laptop but the specs on this laptop was so much better. AND it was a lot less expensive AND it was TOUCHSCREEN. I was disappointed that the latest i7 was not available on any of the gaming laptops, but I was happy that the graphics card in this laptop was the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M graphics with 2GB dedicated video memory. Again not going to beat a desktop, but plenty sufficient to get the job done on the road, since this was for my US Army son it was perfect. Comes with an external DVD player (You may want to get a external bluray)

I've been watching this UHD TV since last year. I really would love to have a curved TV, but the price for adding 3D is ridiculous. This is the time of year that you can get last year's $3000 TV for $1200! or less.
It is a SUPER SMART with MANY video streaming APPS included. I can watch my Amazon prime, hulu, netflix and others or order from Samsung. There are multiple ways to interact from the touch remote to speaking to the TV. There are no buttons to access everything is on the remote.
The screen is like looking through a window. The 4K upscaling is awesome even on DVD's it is like watching your old favorites as if they were new.
Very low energy use. very light. Wi-Fi or ethernet built in. Only has one composite and video input, no SVideo connections, Has digital and analog audio out, USB, couple of HDMI
If you don't want 3D (Which is awesome) Then look at the 4k curved tvs by sony or samsung. But today I would go with Samsung because they have a UHD player with 10 movies and 30 documentaries at Best BUY for only $60.

Great college student laptop

Large hard drive, video is good, quad core A6 processor makes a good student computer. My daughter's last laptop got stressed on the hinges and the 'soft' plastic case busted, until the screen died. I tested hinges on a variety of lower end laptops and this was one of the most sturdy. We will see.

Bought the 3D version of Godzilla and I chose best buy because they gave this comic with it. It is normally about $10, and it would have been a good add-on purchase. But since it was free with purchase, it was an awesome deal. Not a very detailed story or art, but I might have purchased it and gave it 4 stars, but definitely recommended.

Series is great! 4 disc blueray is not best option

The Arrow TV series is one of the few DC character TV and Movie presentations that is done right. I am not reviewing the series just the Blue-ray.
The case is compact and contains four (4) discs of the series. There is the series as shown on TV and also bonus material including specials on the series, a gag reel, and unaired material. All good stuff for the fan of the series.
BUT I did NOT know that there was a 9 disc version that included DVD and Ultraviolet for about the same price. This series is specialized and maybe that is why the season set price is so high. I was disappointed that they even sold a 4 disc version without Ultraviolet streaming.
So on this product, I would buy only if you are sticking to blueray only and if the price was substantially lower than the nine (9) disc version.

Better than the First in Action

FYI: When Movies come out, JUMP right away on the 3D, Bluray, DVD with free streaming video packs. They almost NEVER get a discount, I did manage to get a price match.
Thor this time round is in an epic multi universe battle with a historical enemy of his people. The story line is much better than the original which seemed to just introduce characters, this time Thor gets better treatment, although his initial individual exploration presents him as a moper. Anyway we only watch Marvel for the special effects and battles, and this has awesome action sequences.
The Combo pack has plenty and a really awesome Marvel One Shot mini episode that you have to watch.

I think it might depend on your area. But call the local store. A friend of mine had his TV mounted by Geek Squad and it was not bought at Best Buy

is there a charge for using hulu or other streaming sites
For most streaming sites there is a charge. and you will have to sign-in, and they often offer a trial for a specific period of time or a 'non-premium' membership so that you can see what is available. If you can join a site without a monthly fee then a lot of the streaming sites have free content that vary time to time. Check each site to see if there is a free trial or a non-premium method to join.

Pan and scan= the picture is NOT wide screen and is square. Most videos now are in wide screen as they were originally filmed so pan and scan removes the sides of the video so it would fit on older tube televisions. There are the occasional movies that were filmed in a square format and there fore are presented as originally scene. Generally Pan and Scan means less.
Subtitle=has subtitle options available for the DVD player to access thru the dvd menu.
AC3, DTS and Dolby are sound types for surround sound. Not an issue if you are using your TV speakers. But you will need a compatible audio receiver and speakers to get surround sound. The best generally is the AC3 surround or DTS surround.

how to cunnect a tv signal to my projector
i have an epson projector and wanted to connect a tv antenna to watch tv on it. is it possible?
Most projectors do not have a digital tv receiver built-in. You will need to attach a digital receiver to your projector to get TV on the screen. The most common method is to use a dvd player with a receiver. In the alternative there are small digital receiver boxes out there still that have video out connections. If the projector has a HDMI or USB video in then I would consider using a Fire or Roku or Google stick to plug in to watch stuff over wifi rather than a tv signal.

What's the difference between HDTV & Smart TV?
Smart TV's are like Smart phones, they have upgraded features and the ability to play apps and integrate with the internet. Some have full operating systems.
HDTV is high definition. HD is 720p to 1080p resolution. Newer TVs are UHD or 4K which are 2160p resolution. Currently 1080p is the bare minimum, I would prefer a high end 1080p to a low end 2160p tv. But if you can stretch it try to get a name brand 2160p (UHD 4K) tv
