With a VSS parking-brake and reverse wire output, this wiring interface makes it easy to install an aftermarket radio that has navigation functionality. The harness provides a 12-volt, 10-amp switched output for easy setup.
I installed this harness in my 06 Durango with a Pioneer NEX-4200. The install went off without a hitch, the head unit and amp operated correctly. The problem came when I started experiencing a vampiric battery drain on the system causing my battery to die overnight. After replacing my battery, my alternator, and trying many troubleshooting steps, I gave Metra a call, well 3 to be exact. They tried to tell me that it was because I hadn't properly removed my factory radio. First, there were no instructions/warnings in the scant documentation included with the harness to follow. Second, I tried the steps they provided(3 slightly different versions of each other) and none of them worked. They also never offered to replace the harness. I ended up narrowing the issue down to the CAN bus module never going to sleep, of which they said was caused again, by impropoper factory radio removal. They did nothing but give me the runaround. I ended up spending another $100 and took it to a local car audio shop. They wired it up without the harness and it works perfect. Save your money and do what I did. Avoid this product.
