Love These Headphones!

Wow, am I impressed with these headphones! These are by far the most comfortable and best sounding headphones I have used in quite awhile. They are also wireless which is a big plus. I am not a fan of ear buds (except for when working out). They tend to bug my ears and the sound quality isn't the greatest, so I was excited to give the Sony XB950B1 Wireless Headphones a try. First of all, set up was a breeze. I had them up and running very quickly. And then the sound...wow! I loved the bass and the noise cancelling was a wonderful. We have 2 kids and 2 dogs and I couldn't hear any of them or the obnoxious cartoon playing on the tv while I had the headphones on. It was amazing. They are comfortable and sound great too. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a wireless headphone that is not an ear bud. They are wonderful.

Might Be a Good Product, But Didn't Work For Us

I was very excited to get the weBoost - 4G Cell Phone Signal Booster as I have very poor cell service on my phone while in my house. My cell carrier is AT&T and apparently, in our area there are coverage issues. My cell phone normally has one or two bars fairly consistently throughout our home. I was hopeful that the We Boost would help with my cell strength, but sadly it did not.
Set-up: I must say set up was not as easy as it seemed. First of all, they want you to register the system. Unfortunately, they want the product number and serial number which was harder to find and enter than you'd think. They provided a nice photo indicating where to find the information which was great, but when we found the numbers and typed them in, it said it was not found. There was a drop down menu, but the system wasn't even listed there. Very frustrating. It wouldn't let you continue without picking something, so we just picked one.
Connection: This is where my tech-savy husband almost lost it. There are 2 pieces that must be put in or near a window and another one that must be at least 20 feet away, but it connects to the other 2 by a 25 ft cable! Yes, in the age of everything wireless you have to deal with a very long cord. We struggled to find a place to put these items without a 25 ft cord draped everywhere. Mind you, we have a new puppy and so having a wire hanging down or laying on the floor is pretty impossible. Trying to find a place near a window to accomplish this was even harder. So, we set it up in the kitchen to at least test it out to see if it's worth hiding wires and rearranging furniture.
Turning it on: We connected everything as instructed and the green light came on. We thought we were in business. I excitedly got my cell phone and took it off WiFi as instructed. I still only had one or two bars. I got closer to the system and it would go from one to two and then maybe three, but it never stayed for very long. We tried rearranging the system and moving it further away and closer. We also tried moving it to the front of the house instead of facing the backyard and nothing changed. We finally decided to disconnect everything and put it back in the box. It just didn't seem to work for us. It may have something to do with the service in our area though. I know the system works as a magnifier, but if you have very poor service in your area to begin with, it probably does not work as well. It was worth a shot I guess.
Overall, I would say a wireless type system would be much better for a home like ours. A 25 foot cable would be hard to hide for most families. Maybe this system would work for a business though. I do think the idea was good and was hoping it would help. It just didn't work in our case.

My First Pair of Wireless Headphones

The Jbl - Under Armour Sport Heart Rate Wireless In-ear Headphones were the first wireless headphones I have used. I was eager to try them and see how they compare to my wired earbuds. I am not one to normally like ear buds and usually find them uncomfortable.
I opened the box and immediately realized the ear enhancers that came on the ear buds were way too big for me. I chose the size 5 (the smallest available). Changing the ear buds was not easy. The thin rubber felt as if it might tear while stretching it across the ear bud. I finally got them on.
You will need to download the UA Record app and install it, then create an account. This was easy and quick. Then you just sync your smart phone's Bluetooth to the earphones. The heart rate feature worked fine and I was easily able to get my heart rate both before and after my workout.
The ear buds were comfortable and connectivity was great during my 30 minute walk. I enjoyed not having a wire swinging in front of me as I walked. The only wire is the one that goes behind your head. The sound was great as I listened to Pandora from my phone.
Overall, I like these earphones and look forward to using my free 12 month membership to mapmyrun.com and fully utilize the earphones. The only negative was switching out the ear enhancers, but once that was done, everything else was great.

Best New Tech of 2017

We got the Linksys Velop Whole Home Wi-Fi System with high hopes that it would help increase the speed and reach of the Wi-Fi in our home. We currently have a router with decent internet coverage in the kitchen and living room, but when moving to the office and back bedrooms (down the hall), the Wi-Fi speed was really spotty and slow. I actually even moved my home computer to the dining room table since searching the internet was painfully slow in my home office. We have a 3,000 square foot plus home and so we figured we would give this a try. Oh, what a difference!
My husband was in charge of setting it up and he had it up and running in about 30 minutes. We got the system with 3 nodes that can be placed in various areas throughout the home. We put one by the existing router, one in the office and one down the other hall to the bedrooms. Each node plugs into an outlet and then they are synced together. This process was quick and easy. My husband said there are step by step instructions on how to download the app, create a new account and then set-up the system. He did need to create a new Wi-Fi network and password, but he said this was very easy to do and the instructions were spot on.
Once the account and network were set up, it was very easy to sync each of the nodes with his iPhone. It took a few minutes for the app to locate each of the nodes and a color changing light on the node lets you know when the node is synced (it turned from purple to blue). Then we just went to each device and selected the new network he created and that was it. So easy! The nodes are a sleek, all white tower that are small and are definitely not an eye sore or in the way at all.
I am now sitting comfortably in my home office using my laptop with full Wi-Fi and it is fantastic. What used to take forever to accomplish is now done in minutes. Searching the net and downloading is a breeze. We have had no issues with our phones or computers in regards to the Wi-Fi since installing the Linksys Velop Whole Home Wi-Fi System. It really has made our Wi-Fi more efficient and extended its reach to areas in our home that were sub-par before. We have 2 laptops, 2 iPhones, 2 iPads, an Xbox One and 2 Nintendo 3DS that all utilize Wi-Fi. This product is really amazing and does exactly what it claims to do.
We are fairly tech savy, but by no means experts. We found the product easy to install and the instructions were precise. You will need to download the app in order to use it, but it is so worth it. My husband said you can control things like parental controls etc., through the app too and it will alert your phone if the system goes down. Overall, a really great product and we could not be happier to have it in our home.

Good Place to Hold Discs

Got this as the deal of the day for my boys to put their many Disney Infinity power discs in. The folder is really big and holds a lot of discs. The only drawback is some of the places to put the discs in are very deep and it is hard to get the discs out once they are pushed in. I think with time, the areas that are tight will stretch out and the discs will be easier to remove. It helps keep the discs organized in one place though.

My 10 year old wanted a portable mouse to use in class with his Chromebook. This mouse is wireless and tiny. So easy to transport in his backpack. He is left-handed and this mouse works for either left or right handed users. It was easy to connect and works great. I got it as the deal of the day and it was a great value.
