The trials and tribulations of the Braverman family are detailed in this emotional drama, and each of the show's 103 episodes is included in this collection. Zeek (Craig T. Nelson) and his wife, Camille (Bonnie Bedelia), navigate life along with their children Adam (Peter Krause), Sarah (Lauren Graham), Julia (Erika Christensen) and Crosby (Dax Shephard). Their families include: Julia's husband Joel (Sam Jaeger), and their children Haddie (Sarah Ramos) and Max (Max Burkholder), who has Asperger's syndrome, Sarah's independent daughter Amber (Mae Whitman), and Crosby's girlfriend, Jasmine (Joy Bryant), who is the mother of Crosby's son, Jabbar (Tyree Brown). Throughout the show's six seasons, the Bravermans and their adopted family deal with new relationships, upstart businesses, affairs and other unforseen difficulties and surprises along the way.
Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry return as a hitman and nervous yuppie who form an uneasy alliance in this sequel to the crime comedy The Whole Nine Yards, getting a simple but well-executed presentation on DVD. This edition of The Whole Ten Yards has been given a letterboxed transfer to disc in the widescreen aspect ratio of 1.85:1, which has also been enhanced for anamorphic play on 16 x 9 monitors. (A pan-and-scanned full-frame edition is also available.) The audio has been mastered in Dolby Digital 5.1, featuring the original English-language soundtrack, as well as an alternate dubbed French track. Optional subtitles in English, French, and Spanish are also included. Bonus features include a commentary track from director Howard Deutch and screenwriter George Gallo, as well as the movie's theatrical trailer.
The Tom Cruise vehicle Cocktail comes to DVD with a widescreen anamorphic transfer that preserves the original theatrical aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The English soundtrack is rendered in Dolby Digital Stereo. Supplementary materials are limited to the theatrical trailer. This is a sparse disc from Disney/Buena Vista, but it should be enough to satisfy fans of the film, who along with Tom Cruise fans represent this title's intended audience. There is little here to interest the average DVD consumer.
