I bought the 3-month Xbox Live membership because it was on sale at $15. At that price, it's a decent buy...gives me access to a decent-sized, robust gaming community to interact with. Given that most of the games I play on Xbox Live have a co-op element to it, this is kind of a must.

I get a kick from playing the 40-player matches, like Walker assault or the Jakku battle. Gameplay, graphics, and audio are okay...the game panders more to nostalgia than it does to any type of revolutionary game mechanic. I agree with most of the negative reviews out there that at $60, this game doesn't provide a whole lot of content in the form of available planets to battle in. If this is available onsale at sub-$35, then it becomes more palatable.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III is the ultimate 3-games-in-1 experience. In Campaign mode, you must navigate the hot spots of a new Cold War to find your missing brothers. Players can play the campaign cooperatively or solo and are now always connected to the intelligence grid and their fellow operatives during battle. Multiplayer features a new momentum-based chained movement system, allowing players to fluidly move through the environment with finesse, using controlled thrust jumps, slides, and mantling. Black Ops III multiplayer also introduces the new Specialist character system, which allows players to master 9 characters' battle-hardened weapons and abilities through a challenge-based unlock progression system. No Treyarch title would be complete without its signature Zombies offering. "Shadows of Evil" has its own distinct storyline right out of the box, set in the fictional 1940s Morg City, where four particularly troubled individuals — the femme fatale, the magician, the detective, and the boxer — star in this film-noir inspired horror story.

Not as bad as I expected

I haven't been overly impressed by this generation of CoD games so far, so my expectations for CoD Black Ops 3 were low to begin with. However, I felt that the campaign was deeper than I expected, heightened replay (with long single-player missions and the added nightmares mode), and decent audio and video presentation. The zombies mode seemed less integrated than the last outing, but it still presents the typical horde gameplay one would expect from zombies.

Either (1) I'm getting older or (2) I'm being desensitized by other FPS games on the market, but Halo 5 has been kind of meh. I always felt that one of the best parts of the Halo series is the story-telling and presentation; both of which fall a little short in H5. I was hoping that the dichotomy of playing as Chief and Locke would bring back memories of H2, but both characters (and their teams) are somewhat interchangeable. The story's a hot, confusing mess. On the plus side, gameplay mechanic is still tops for a FPS.

Okay AP but mediocre extender

As expected, this device works better as an AP than as en extender. In extender mode, I ran into the following problems:
1) Slow performance for clients to re-connect to wifi (due to collisions when re-broadcasting the signal)
2) I could not get the extender to connect to the 5ghz band of my wireless router.

In AP mode, it's fairly snappy though.
