Star Trek Beyond does something the last two Star Trek films didn't do while trying to build up the new saga — it actually puts the crew on a strange alien world, which was part of the five year mission the Enterprise was on during the original series. That the film strands the characters on a strange world and forces them to face this new fear, rather than have Starfleet backing them up, gives Star Trek Beyond the ability to go back to the roots of the series.
The cast is excellent, with Karl Urban's McCoy still getting most of the laughs. Idris Elba makes for a compelling villain, even when completely unrecognizable under layers of makeup. Sofia Boutella provides an exciting heroine who isn't seduced by Kirk like most of the alien women on the show were.
The special effects are visually stunning, the action sequences creative, and the direction by Fast and Furious alum Justin Lin holds up to JJ Abrahms work on the first two films. Great for sci-fi fans and action fans.

Rising from the ashes of Mother Love Bone after the death of Andy Wood, Temple of the Dog is a supergroup of grunge gods from Soundgarden and Pearl Jam. With Chris Cornell's powerful voice, Matt Cameron's ratatat drumming, Mike McCready's insane guitar prowess, Eddie Vedder's backing vocals, and Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard bringing up the rest of the electric strings, Temple of the Dog pays tribute to their fallen friend and creates a beautiful album about friendship, lost opportunities, addiction, and faith. You can't miss this album if you're a fan of the Seattle sound, or are interested in seeing the deeper cuts from Soundgarden and Pearl Jam.

Adele continues to prove she's one of the strongest female vocalists of all time with this new album. In an age of over-produced, overly auto-tuned pop albums with questionable talent, her voice is naturally beautiful and melodic, hypnotizing in its romantic power.
Beyond the single "Hello", tracks like "When We Were Young" demonstrate the wistful, heartfelt pain of a woman who has witnessed love first hand and lost it. Motherhood hasn't slowed her down, and I hope it never does.
