Bought this Chromecast as a gift for my sister. Set up was easy, was up and running in about 10 minutes. I know there are a variety of dongle devices available at present, but the Chromecast has worked so well for us, I really haven't had the desire to research the others very much. Great value for the investment.
Solid transfers on these blu-rays. Of course, the first film is the best, the sequels are fun at times, but suffer from diminishing returns due to less focused storytelling and plot-lines. I think it's unfortunate that Warner Brothers chose not to include the director's cuts of these movies in this set with blu-ray branching capabilities. Some of the excised material in those cuts really help flesh out the later entries by providing some nice character moments for the actors to play.
Certainly a product of its time, and perhaps hasn't aged as well as one would have hoped, but this film is simply silly and fun. The new blu-ray release looks good, and retains the special features on the DVD edition. The cast commentary is worth a listen, the participants have a great camaraderie and provide as many laughs as the movie itself.
Discover a world of adventure and excitement in this release featuring Planet of the Apes (1968), Beneath the Planet of the Apes, Escape from the Planet of the Apes, Conquest of the Planet of the Apes, and Battle for the Planet of the Apes.
This is the first time I've had the opportunity to watch the series as a whole. The later films had some weak moments, but they were interesting to view again now that I am older and able to grasp the underlying social commentary. I would recommend this set to anyone that has an interest in the new series of films to see how it all started. My suspicion is that the current films will be re-telling the story chronologically, and won't be linked to this set of films as prequels as I first presumed.

What's great about it: The first film, of course
What's not so great: Limited special features on later entries
Really great package overall. Very thankful that the documentary DVD was included, was finally able to get rid of my old VHS copy! Wish that the video extras had been remastered and included on Blu-ray. Really didn't like that I was unable to purchase in a Best Buy store on release date, and was forced to order online and wait an extra week, but it was worth it.
What's great about it: The songs
What's not so great: Some of the demo track material is incomplete
Director Del Toro offers a fun, creative monster vs. robot movie that is intentionally reminiscent of the old Saturday afternoon creature features on TV in the old days. The action is great as one would expect. The story drags a little in some of the quieter moments, but this director simply has too many ideas that he wants to gleefully stuff into each film as if he may not get another chance to do so. I'll take his brand of unbridled enthusiasm for the film making process over some of the other stuff Hollywood churns out.

I truly regret not making the time to see this film in the theater. The camera work is absolutely stunning. The plotting of the story doesn't offer many major surprises, but the direction and performances help it rise above that limitation.
