I first saw this movie when it came out in 1991 when I was 4 years old. This has always been my favorite Disney soundtrack (including the songs and the score). I love the Disney Legacy Collection, which includes lots of bonus tracks, demos, and information in the liner notes. Highly recommended!
Bring home a classic love story with this Funko Beauty and the Beast blind box. Characters from the new live-action film stand 3.5 inches to make an adorable miniature addition to your collection. Which character you'll get is a mystery, making this Funko Beauty and the Beast blind box a great surprise gift.
I first saw this movie a few years ago and loved it! The music is a little intrusive, though. Anyway, the voices are great and this is a very creative, original remake of the Romeo and Juliet story. Highly recommended for kids and adults.
I first saw this movie on Christmas morning on the WB channel in 2002 and I absolutely loved it. George C. Scott is a Wall Street version of Scrooge (the movie was made in the late '80s, I believe), but he's very good in the role. It's a very well made adaptation that stands the test of time. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys holiday movies. This is top notch.
Okay, so this movie is 75% gibberish and it made $150 million over its premiere weekend (go figure!) It's one of the zaniest movies, but it's really enjoyable - almost as good as the Despicable Me movies (which I love!). If you're a Despicable Me fan, you'll enjoy this film. The voices of Sandra Bullock and Jon Hamm are nice additions too. Highly recommended.
While I was growing up in the 1990s, the original Pete's Dragon from the '70s was on TV, and I didn't really enjoy it too much, so I wasn't expecting much from the new movie. However, I really loved this movie - the actors were all splendid, the score was nice, and the story was interesting. The pace was excellent. It's a great family movie, but definitely not corny. It's a sophisticated, heartwarming, enjoyable, family movie. Highly recommended.
Moana is a great heroine, a wonderful role model for young girls. She's adorable, lovable, smart, very brave, and extremely loyal to her family and to her community. The story moves very quickly, and it is at once funny, serious, and heartwarming. Dwayne Johnson is good as well. Lovely additional to the Disney canon.
A young Disney fan goes on four different fantastical journeys with some of her favorite characters in a collection of six episodes from this animated adventure tale. In addition to two other episodes following young princess enthusiast Sofia, the fun-loving title character has magical travels with Disney heroines, including Beauty and the Beast's Belle, Aladdin's Jasmine, Mulan and Tiana from The Princess and the Frog.
I really enjoy the Sofia the First series. It's a little bit preachy, but not in the suffocating way that most kids' shows are now. I grew up in the '90s and watched the awesome Disney Afternoon shows, so it's a high standard. In any case, though, I love little Sofia and her friends. It's a cute, well written, well acted, well paced series. Highly recommended.
This is an extremely well acted version of Shakespeare's Henry VI Parts 1 & 2, and Richard III. Fine acting, pretty good pacing, exciting. Highly recommended.
Well, you just can't reach the standards of Disney's still unsurpassable animated masterpiece of 1991. I was four years old in 1991, so of course I'm biased. However, the live action movie of this year could have been better. I liked Luke Evans as Gaston, but Emma Watson just wasn't quite right as Belle. Josh Gad was just plain annoying as LeFou. Dan Stevens was rather bland as Beast - Robbie Benson's voice over was complex and compelling. The castle characters are good. The music was overall well done. Alan Menken's score was excellent as usual. The movie is well paced and the back stories add a new level of interest, but there was still something lacking.
