I'm not a huge Matthew McConaughey fan, but he does seem to turn in some good to great performances, and this one was really good. Interesting take on the inter-stellar travel question, too. A definite must for Sci Fi fans and those who like movies about family.
Love the Peter Jackson LTR movies, really well done, but this could have been done as a single movie, or at most, two part-er... But that said, I still really enjoyed it!
Continuing in the tradition of Brazil, more fantastical ideas of the future from the ex. Python, Gilliam. Terrific cast, except possibly Matt Damon who seems slightly out of place in this movie.
As a sci-fi fan, I liked this, but I'm not a huge Tom Cruise fan, so I think the lead could have been better. Interesting take on the apocalyptic future of the earth. Some cool tech ideas in the movie.
For fans of space sci-fi flicks, this is just a fun movie to watch. Since I'm a fan of those kinds of movies, I liked it a lot. I'm not a huge fan of the extras on DVDs and Blu-rays, so I won't comment on that part.
I liked this one better than Rise of the Planet of the Apes, I found that one a bit slow. This one moves along at a good pace, lots of good extras on the disc, too.
Not for everyone, and it can seem a little long at points, but this is a great movie if you give it a chance. I would almost say you need to watch it at least two or three times to really appreciate it. One start taken away for the lack of broad appeal, but in terms of the actual film, for me it is a 5 star flick.
