Good idea for saving the monthly lease fee

I got this because my cable company charges too much to lease it. I basically would have paid for it in about 6 months of their fees.
Easy setup and a quick call to the cable company to register the serial number got me up and running.
It requires the occasional "unplug and reset" but nothing too out of the ordinary.

This had a sticker on the package, when I saw it in the store, that said "Works for IPad Pro 9.7". So...this was true, except that the new speakers on the top and the flash were covered. After a little customization on my end...it looks stock and works great.
I like how I can rest it horizontally or vertically.

Great peace of mind when you are away

I recently did an automated "smart home" install using an Insteon hub, light switches, outlets, garage door opener, security gate opener, security cameras...the works. The one thing that was lacking was confirming that my doors were locked. I have cameras that face them, but it does no good if I cannot lock/ unlock them remotely. In comes Kevo...
I'll add that I purchased the Kevo Plus device directly from Kwikset, which allows me to lock/ unlock the doors from anywhere I have an Internet connection. It ties into your home's wired network and sends a signal to the lock, just like you were standing within range of it.
The door lock itself was a replacement for a previous Kwikset deadbolt, so it kept the aesthetics of the first lock, which I liked. I did not want a keypad on my door or some bulky box with a satin finish to make it look nice. The side that is inside is slim and pleasing as well, unlike the August lock that is a HUGE canister that mounts to the existing locking system.
Install was quick and easy...pay attention to the left/ right door swing instructions. The lock will make a grinding sound like it is broken, until you follow those instructions and it programs the throw of the lock to the correct direction.
I received a key fob and unlimited ekeys to use, which makes it handy with friends, family or maintenance workers who may need access. I can either see people on arrival, open the lock to allow access and lock it at we them, or email an ekey that gives them access. That access can be controlled to either specific times and days or unlimited access. It can also be revoked via the admin person through the app.
Highly recommended and will be adding more locks to my setup.

I purchased this device after installing home security devices that required a direct connection to my wireless router. My router only has 4 ports and I quickly discovered I needed more.
Easy install, just plug and play. I was worried that there would be port forwarding issues or who knows what else. No problems whatsoever. Just plug from router to this switch, reset network devices to allow the devices to recognize one another and you are set. Easiest networking thing I've done so far.

I'm a reviewer all the way. I read them and wrote them, but I also try the products myself to get a true baseline.
I love Apple, but I also like Amazon Prime movies, so without the integration (screen share only), Apple was out.
I tried Amazon Fire (newest gen box, not stick) since it was supposed to work with their app so well.. It was super slow, lagged, stuttered, among other issues I had.
I tried ChromeCast and mehh...useful, but not what I was looking for in a complete package.
I tried the Roku stick due to size and simplicity...too slow.
I already had a Roku 3 (older gen) and really gave the others a shot. But, in the end...got another Roku 3 (newest gen). I don't have a 4K TV, so no need for the Roku 4.
This device is simple, runs smooth, streams wirelessly with no hiccups and has been my favorite device hands down.
I can screen share from my phone, use my phone as a remote, use it wired or wirelessly, plug in media via mini SD and USB, listen privately with headphones plugged into the remote, use the remote fast keys, and more. I like that the remote also does not have to point at the base, allowing me to hide it behind my TV for a cleaner look.
Great device...you will my regret it.

I'm an Apple fan, so I usually get the latest iPhone, Mac, iPad, etc... (Call it drinking the kook-aid, but they just work...the end).
This iPad Pro 9.7 sounds better, runs faster and smoother and hands down is my favorite device yet. From the increased megapixels in the front and rear cameras (with flash now by the way) to the four-speaker audio, way to go Apple!
I've not tried the Apple Pencil yet, but it is on my list. I've played around with the Paper app, notes app and some others and see where it would be beneficial. I have tried graphic intensive apps and games that would slow down my precious devices and no form of lag whatsoever on this device.
Highly recommended Apple device. I got the 128 GB when Best Buy ran it $100 off and thanks to my iCloud storage...I am no where close to using any of that yet.

I picked this up while it was on sale for almost half off. I wanted the glass protector, but for the savings...I jumped on this one.
Install is like tinting a window. It has a special spray and a rubber edged tool to force the excess bubbles out.
Don't freak out after install if you see a rainbow haze on the display and some small bubbles...this is normal. After 24 hours, mine all went away and it looks great.
It has a plastic feel to it so using a stylus worries me, as it sticks to the tip (hence the reason I wanted glass).
Overall I would recommend it.

Good in theory, but really slow

Thought this would be great to supplement the 64 GB iPhone 6S Plus memory. What better way to clear memory on the your phone than to dump photos on this drive and push to your computer later? It also had the ability to view movies on your phone or tablet that were uploaded to the drive. Well...I found that it was sooooooo slow dumping those photos that it was not worth it to me. I returned it and got a personal cloud, wirelessly backing up my photos through my home network from anywhere I have Internet access. I can also access the personal cloud and play music from it...also anywhere I have Internet access. So, this was a good concept, but a little too slow for my needs.

I'll start by saying I work in the tech industry and am very familiar with networking equipment. I purchased this device for mobile backup/ viewing my stored data remotely.
After multiple hours of setup, and additional 2 hours with tech support and learning that the device was defective...I returned the device for the Seagate Personal Cloud...complete win over the WD version.
This device was not at all user friendly. It would walk you to "a step" then crash. I'm sure having a defective unit did not help with my experience, but believe me when I say there are better units out there. I switched to the Seagate and no regrets. I spent half an afternoon with this device and wasted my time. Glad Best Buy had a great return policy.

Yes, you can remotely use it via the app when you are within range of it. To extend that range to anywhere with Internet access, you will need the Kevo Plus device that plugs into your home's wired network.

If somebody comes to visit me from out of town, can I issue eKeys to them or do they have to have the actual fab?
You can email them an ekey for free. You can also revoke that ekey once th y are done.

Is this a double deadbolt, meaning is it a key on the outside AND the inside of the door, or is the inside a turn knob?
No, just a key on the outside and a latch you switch on the inside.

Does the phone App keep a log of when the door was unlocked and can you set it up to send you push notifications when the door is unlocked in real time?
Yes, you can set up notifications whenever the door is locked or unlocked and have them emailed each time. Or you can view them on the app or online.

Can you keep the deadbolt unlocked if you wanted?
It does not lock automatically. It requires you to either tap the metal housing on the outside portion or to use the app to lock it.

Is this compatible with Wink?
No, it runs through an independent app, but currently does not connect to any other smart home app. It used to work with Apple Home, but was pulled several months ago.
