When I first saw this movie in 1996 I was so impressed with it I saw it 3 more times. I enjoyed the story, the comedy, the special effects, the characters and the emotional music. It was very impressive for it's time and just like movies like Terminator 2, it stands up well even today. 20 years later we finally get a sequel and it was below my expectations. Stick with this movie if you had to choose between this and the sequel.

This movie was up to the point of release the most highly anticipated sequel that I have been waiting 20 years for. I saw the first one 4 times and countless times on tv and br. It stands up really well after 20 years. When the sequel was released theatrically I attended the 1 night double feature containing the first and second movie back to back. Seeing the first one in the theaters again was enjoyable and then seeing the second one. After watching the second one I was felt kinda let down. It didn't have that emotional impact that the first one and I felt nothing for the new cast of characters. Seeing some of the original characters was nice but that was about it. The special effects weren't really WOW factored like the first one. The end of the movie just pretty much a slap in the face saying "You are going to get a sequel because this sequel was bad!".

This movie was enjoyable and worked very well in 3d. In the theater release while viewing it in 3d, effects popped off the letter boxed image, known as Frame Break. I was really impressed by this effect. The effect is also recreated in the home release in the 2d release but on the disc only and not digital copy. If you want the full effect from the theater release, it would be best to view the 3d disc at home.
The movie was movie also had an extended edition but to be honest, the theatrical release worked just fine.

Nothing happens. I would keep this away from your cell phone though.. doesn't seem to be well shielded so you hear some usual sounds when data or texts are being transmitted to /from the phone.
