Paris 1789 — the once-hub of cultural and intellectual activity has been thrown into bloody chaos in the midst of the tense French Revolution. Commoners have become tired of the oppressive regime of the aristocrats and have finally gathered the courage to confront the hierarchy with the pangs of the present inequality. As the nation of France tears apart at the seams, splitting into different factions, a young man named Arno sets off on a journey to reveal the true powers behind the Revolution. In the process of seeking the truth, Arno must face a ruthless struggle as he seeks to carve out a new destiny for the nation he holds dear. From the storming of the Bastille to the execution of King Louis XVI, experience the French Revolution in all its remarkable, gory detail as never before in Assassin's Creed: Unity. With an all-new game engine, Revolutionary Paris is rendered in incredibly realistic detail, letting you freely explore the open world of 18th century Paris. Navigate your way through complex building interiors, discover secret catacombs and slink through sewer systems. Featuring realistic, systemic crowds of up to 5,000 AI-driven characters, you'll feel as if you're truly in the throngs of the city. Play as Arno — a developing Master Assassin — embarking on ancestral missions, treasure hunts, murder mysteries, contracts and other heart-pounding adventures. Eliminate enemy threats with a wide range of new weapons, including the Phantom Blade, which combines a hidden blade with crossbow capabilities for ultimate devastation. Utilize full-motion control with parkour mechanics, so you can freely run up, down and across city walls and buildings. Want to remain discreet? Enhanced stealth gameplay makes it easy to stay hidden as you stalk your prey and strike without warning. Customize your play experience by choosing from hundreds of possible combinations of weapons, gear, outfits and specialized skills. Take part in an epic single-player campaign or join up with 3 friends online. You and your lethal band must rely on communication skills to successfully accomplish a slew of missions — sabotage an execution, protect an emperor, assassinate a Templar agent and more. Do you have the skills needed to reverse the fate of an entire city?

Not the Best in the Franchise

Maybe I'm just spoiled with Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, but this iteration seems to be much less polished. The gameplay issues are a lot of the same run and climb walls when all you wanted to do was run, try to hop over something short and end up stuck on the top of it instead, getting stuck after falling in between objects, etc., BUT all problems become much more exaggerated. Falling through levels is a daily occurrence (how hard is it to make a floor A FLOOR?!), instead of assassinating someone you pull out your sword thereby alerting them to your presence, as well as the usual jumping off of a building instead of jumping to the next ledge. I understand Ubisoft is in the market to make money, but I'd gladly have waited until Christmas if a lot of these bugs would have been polished out. I've also locked up my game twice over the past 3 days.
