Perfect for beginners and Pro’s alike

Sony - Alpha 6100 Mirrorless Camera with E PZ 16-50mm Lens - Black
What’s in the box:
• AC Adaptor:AC-UUD12
• Eyepiece cup
• Lens cap
• Micro USB cable
• Rechargeable Battery NP-FW50
• SELP1650
• Shoulder strap
The a6100 is an all size fits all mirrorless camera, and it is the successor to the a6000 that has been around for years. A notable upgrade I might add.
It can be used to point and shoot to produce beautiful pictures, or you can dive a little in the so easy to use menu to customize settings and get the most out of it.
The a6100 is also a wonderful and great option for bloggers, with its almost limitless accessories and the great 4K shooting abilities, it can be an affordable option for bloggers who want a gear that can be used in a multitude of scenarios.
Feel & Build quality:
The a6100 is a very well built, rugged camera. Although its made of plastic, it feels very good in hand, and its very well balanced. The right hand camera grip is made of soft rubber feel plastic for optimum grip and to avoid the camera slipping from sweaty hands.
All buttons are very well placed and easy to get your muscle memory going and after some time using the camera, I can say that it feels very natural and not awkward at all.
Features and ease of use:
Although this camera can be very sophisticated and advanced, it can also be set to auto mode to point and shoot images or videos.
The menu is very easy to use & self-explanatory. every time you turn the dial to one of the option, you do get a screen that tells you what can be done within this menu. Kudos to Sony for dumbing it down for beginners like me
Pre-set options include:
- Auto mode: which includes 2 modes of Intelligent auto or superior auto and the difference is choosing between automatically identifying the scene characteristics to shoot a photo or to shoot images automatically while reducing blurring and noise.
- Scene selection mode: which enables you to select a mode for the subject and the environment we want to capture like night scene, hand held twilight (to shoot night mode without the stability of a tripod), night portraits (fires the flash to illuminate the subject and slows the shutter down to capture the background scene as well), anti motion blur to enhance the image quality in poor lighting conditions, portrait mode, sports action (shoots fast movement in higher shutter speeds), macro mode to shoot close ups, landscape which is great for nature and sceneries, sunset mode that vividly captures the reds.
- Panorama mode: which enables you to get a panoramic image in vertical or horizontal modes.
- S&Q modes: for slow and quick motion capturing for movies.
- Movie modes: you have auto, aperture priority, shutter priority, or manual exposure.
- MR: which shoots with preset settings. This option enables you to setup a function button and assign it to a specific setting to use if you have repeated conditions and you don’t want to change the settings every time.
- Manual exposure mode: allows you to adjust aperture and shutter speeds to your liking.
- Shutter priority: adjust the shutter speeds manually.
- Aperture priority: to be able to change the range in focus and amount of background blur.
Other features include the ability to change glass (lenses) and there is a huge array of lenses that is compatible with the a6100 that can serve multiple needs, the ability to add a microphone for better sound capturing which I highly recommend, and the ability to add an external flash as well.
Image & video quality:
Shooting images and videos is very easy it makes you question how does this camera produces so beautiful and outstanding images and videos in so little effort on your side. With red eye reduction and absolutely the best face tracking I have seen on a camera in my life ( it tracks human, animal, and even faces on tv with amazing speed and accuracy using its real time tracking feature.
The auto mode is perfect, the video quality with 4K with resolution of 3840 x 2160 and a dedicated video recording button makes it very easy and fool proof to make sure you get what you want, and what you only want.
Other great features include the 3 inch TFT- LCD touch screen that can swivel and flip to enable you to shoot videos and photos while holding the camera and actually see the frame you are in. although its not the best screen quality in the world but it does what it needs to do.
Images can be produced either in Jpeg, or Raw formats. The final product quality is the same but Raw is the better option if you are planning on doing heavy editing on your photos.
Other notable features include WIFI connectivity to download images to your smart device, Bluetooth connectivity with compatible accessories like the Sony shooting grip or the remote commander.
A great feature is also how customizable the functions are with a dedicated Fn (function) button to make the camera your own and to your liking.
Lens: the a6100 comes with a 16-50 mm Power Zoom Lens which is also made by sony. Its versatile and suitable for 100% of a beginners needs. Upgradeability is endless with glass that is offered from both Sony, and third party vendors.
Battery: the camera comes with one rechargeable battery pack NP-FW50. This specific battery has been used for a long time by Sony and you can get spares from Sony and third party vendors as well. I highly recommend getting an extra battery or two because mirrorless cameras tend to drain battery very fast.
Cons: the only 2 things that bother me about this camera are:
1- The shoulder snap rings connected to the camera are made of metal and are very noisy when shooting videos (I have removed them since the camera will be used for videos and photos mainly utilizing a tripod.
2- The camera has no IPS rating and is not water or dust proof. An option is to get a protective waterproof case.
Conclusion: like many other Sony products this camera is going to be usable for years and years, and it is upgradeable with lenses and accessories to keep it relatable in the span of the next 5 years at least.
I highly recommend the a6100 with this kit and price.

Shout out to Phillips old glory
on November 24, 2019

This phillips Norelco shaver reminded me of my first Phillips electric shaver my father gave me on my 18th Birthday back in 1998, it was back when it was made out of metal and leather, came in a heavy black box and you needed to keep it plugged in when you shaved.it was a great gift that meant I was transitioning to an adult.
today, 21 years later I got this shaver and my oh my, the difference is huge but the feeling is the same.
this is an effective shaver that takes care of business and gives you a clean shave within a couple minutes, can be used more than 30 times before you have to charge it again.
Pros:
- Light Weight
- ergonomic design with good gripping rubber if you are using it under water
- fast charge with 3 led light indicators to let you know how much is left in the battery.
- durable design.
- the blades do have a give in them to run across the face without issue.
- this this is not loud, In fact it is almost silent compared to other shavers.
- the most important feature in my opinion is that this shaver doesnt leave mess over the sink because of its rotating blades, it sucks the hair behind the blades and into the small (bin) area within the plastic body. when you are done shaving, you can press the evect button to lift the blades up and just dump the hair into the sink and just rinse it and you are done.
- which means you can shave on the go, in the car, and not worry about hair being all over your clothes.
- you can use it in the shower, it is water proof, and you can use it with shaving cream and gel.
- it comes with a small pouch for travel storage.
- it works with any Phillips norelco charges since it uses the same charging power and the same type plug and charger.
- the price is right.
- the blades can be changed when they become dull (only time can tell).
Cons:
- NONE.

Great little assistant

The Google Nest mini is a great compact device and its a fine much needed upgrade to the Original Google home mini.
I own a few Voice assistants in my house including a Google home display, a home mini, Nest Thermostat, philips Hue, Sengled smart lighting, and a couple Amazon Alexa devices.
the great thing about the Nest mini is that you only need to sign in with your Google account and it will set itself up and sync with all the other Google devices you have at home.
I love the feature of playing music on all Google devices in different rooms at the same time, I love the announcement mode where you call everyone for dinner and all Google devices announce what you asked.
The routines are so configurable and easy to use it really makes a different and saves time.
the improvements on the new Nest Mini include a much better sound quality on the device itself compared to the last generation.
the built in wall mount, and the sensitivity to sound is much better thanks to the added mic.
The price is right and the features are great.

Light on devices, could use more feature
on November 7, 2019

AVG internet security is an easy to install, one purchase for up to 5 devices including Android and windows.
Setup is very straightforward and doesn't require any experience at all.
features are ok, it does protect you from harmful viruses, and worm, and offers email scanner if you want it.
the biggest issue I have with it is that you will need to buy and unlock more feature and that AVG keeps popping up asking you to do so. Yes you can disable them but why not include them in the software in the first place.
Scanning your computer or phone is fairly fast and it gives you the feeling of being protected.
It doesn't eat up a lot of memory and background services are not a lot like other anti virus or internet security software.
when booting or restarting, AVG seems to not slow your device down.
This is a good purchase for someone who just want to install internet security and forget about it on multiple devices, and the price is right.

Unlike other phones this one gets better over time
on October 29, 2019
Posted by: AKK1

If you are anything like me, then you are someone who uses smartphones on a daily basis for a lot of different tasks. For making calls, texting, web browsing, navigation, online shopping, taking pictures, streaming videos, checking bank statements, the weather, and you know the list goes on.
And priorities are lined up like this: responsive and fast, long battery life (at least a full day with no charge), big screen with vibrant colors, decent camera for taking pictures and shooting videos, and water resistance.
My last 3 phones were Google Pixel first edition, Huawei Mate 9, Huawei Mate 10 Pro respectively.
The best experience was by far the Google Pixel, not because it was superior in hardware or software but simply because of the constant updates that you would get them at least 6 months before any other Android phone, and because of exclusive apps and features like the Google assistant that was exclusive for Pixel phones for a period of time. Also you get a guaranteed 3 years of support for the phone which is impressive.
Now it was time to get a new phone and although there are other Android options that have better hardware with better price, I chose to get the Pixel 4XL Just Black with 64GB of storage because hardware isn’t everything. Quick patches and software updates are as important as solid hardware, and I don’t need the 128 GB storage since I already have a Google 1 subscription for added storage space across my google services.
Unboxing:
The phone comes in a nice minimalist package the contains: the phone, sim removal tool, usb type C to USB type C charging cable, USB type C 18 watt charger, USB type C to USB adapter, and user guides.
Design: I have to say that this phone is beautiful. Its classic, simple, and clean, like a Rolex watch. It's not the best out there, but you know it's going to be great!
The Just black has Aluminum frame with matte finish coating, Glossy black Gorilla Glass back, and Gorilla Glass class 5 front. The power button is super light grey on the right side of the frame, and the volume rocker is in black just below the power button.
The phone has stereo speakers and at the bottom of the phone.
The screen is a 6.3 inch with a screen to body ratio of 83.99% which is decent, but the feature really worth mentioning here is that the screen is now an OLED display with 90HZ refresh rate which is a huge factor when it comes to streaming videos, and scrolling through apps, and gaming if your game does support 90HZ refresh rate. The upper notch isn’t very thin but its still acceptable and way better that the Pixel 3, and the bottom chin is actually not bad at all and it is fairly thin.
The sim card slot is closer to the upper left side of the phone, and there is a tool in the packaging that helps you open the slot.
Camera: the back camera design is similar to the one on the new IPhone 11 with a square bump that has 2 cameras lenses, not 3 and no ultra wide angle lens. Instead a standard lens, a telephoto lens with 2 times optical zoom.

Setup:
Setting up is pretty straight forward, you power up the phone after you put your sim in.it walks you through the steps from setting up wifi and checking for updates, then asking if you would like to copy your apps and date, if you chose to do so, you need to connect the new and old phones with a calble ans start the process. Google data copier will look up your Google account on your old phone and sign in on the new one to get your settings/ sync options and then will ask you what do you want to copy from the old device.
I had 34 GigaBytes that needed to be copied from the Huawei Mate 10 Pro and it finished it in 15 minutes.
Also worth mentioning here is that if you have an Active Google Authenticator and or a domain controlled by Google apps, the file copier will move any security certificates from the old phones to the new one with ease.
Once the copy starts the phone will give you the option to continue setting up the phone while its copying from the old phone.
The next step is agreeing to the terms & conditions and then setting up your security pin, then face unlock. Then it asks to setup your Google assistant with your voice. Also worth noting is that if your voice is already recognized using another Google device or account, the phone wont ask you to recertify your voice. It will tell you that your voice is already registered and you can move on to the next step.
The phone then will show you how to use the SQUEEZE gesture to launch assistant, then it will ask you to use the quick gestures that Google added a radar chip for.
Finally, the phone setup is over.

Using the phone:
Its an optimal clean Android version with no junkware whatsoever. Scrolling through the menu is super fast & responsive. Double tap the power button and your camera app comes up. A small squeeze on the body of the phone and the new Google assistant comes up.
Picture quality is so much better than my Huawei Mate 10 Pro, videos are 4K quality @30fps.

Things I loved:
Pure Android Experience.
Minimalistic design.
Quality built phone.
Very responsive face unlock feature.
New exciting features exclusive to the Pixel 4 (for now).
Wireless charging.
IPS68 water resistance rating.
Guaranteed updates from Google for at least 3 years.
Enhanced Google assistant.
Amazing voice recorder with transcribe feature even if you are 100% offline.
The ability to have a personal & work profile if you have a domain service controlled by Google apps.
Google hand gestures (will be testing them more extensively later)
The amazing quality OLED screen with 90 HZ refresh rate.
Good quality stereo speakers.

Things i didn’t love:
Face unlock works even when your eyes are closed (really Google?!)
No finger print security option.
No Ultra wide lens camera sensor.
The battery could be bigger.

Finally, I think there is so much negativity & hate towards this phone because it was over hyped and over leaked before the official release date. The phone is amazingly good and very simple and easy to use. It can serve both a simple user and a complex one at the same time.
This phone isn’t great in any one feature, but it does everything good.

All the bells and whistles

Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Series 2 in 1 model 7591 Black
Does this laptop have it all?
The Dell Inspiron Series were originally created as an affordable series that competes with other affordable brands, well not anymore as this laptop comes with a hefty price tag of $1349
Description
This laptop has all the bells and whistles on paper with the below specs:
Display: 15.6 UHD Touch display with resolution up to 3840 X 2160 and a refresh rate of 60 HZ with a 360 flip and fold laptop design.
Memory: 16 GB DDR 4 RAM
10th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-10510U mobile processor
HDD: 512GB intel SSD (PCI-e) + 32GB Optane
Graphics Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce MX250 2GB
Dell active pen
Fingerprint reader
Backlit keyboard
Webcam
HDMI port
USB-C port
SD card reader port
Two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports
headphone/ microphone combo jack
NO ethernet port.
Non removable 4 cell battery
Stereo speakers
Software: Windows 10 Home Edition 64Bit
Design:
This laptop is designed with all types of users in mind. You can use this laptop if you are a student, or if you’re a businessman that needs high performing laptop with decent battery life and a professional look laptop.
The black color is very attractive, add the very thin side and upper bezels and the glossy looking screen and smooth touch one color backlit keyboard and you got yourself one good looking laptop.
This laptop is very thin with Dimensions at 0.7 inches only.
Touch Pad: the touch pad is positioned well and is very comfortable and easy to use. Its a single plate with no physical right and left clicks edged with a nice chrome frame.
The keyboard is soft touch with normal comfort for this class with decent size buttons and a dedicated numpad and fn keys.
The Dell pen has a slot with magnets to hold it in place.
Things I loved:
The laptop has decent speed thanks to its 10th generation core I7 processor and 16GB memory, I was able to get 5 hours of continuous work with Adobe Photoshop, A Chrome Browser open with 10+ tabs, a youtube video playing in the background, and a remote connection with team viewer to work.
The laptop was snappy & responsive and comfortable to perform different tasks.
When folding the laptop in book or tent mode, the keyboard is automatically disabled.
Although this is a 15.6 laptop with above 4.5 pounds it did feel light weight all the time because of how thin it is. It also didn't take a huge space in my laptop bag which is always a plus.
Hinges look solid and I tried opening and closing them by grabbing the cover from different places and angels. As long as you are not roughing the laptop us, the hinges will be reliable for a long time to come.
Sound volume and quality are very good for a laptop. I did enjoy listening to music and playing movies on this laptop and the sound never felt too low to enjoy.
Things I didn’t love:
Although the screen is a UHD 4K with great resolution but its white color is a bit too warm for my taste, it felt dimmed at points, and while watching 4K videos it was stunning, I wish it was a bit brighter. The blacks are good for a screen of this size and the contrast is great.
The Dell pen although very easy to use but its not as smooth as an Apple pen or even the new Galaxy S6 Tab pen. And it didn't have wireless charging but a AAAA battery that will need to be replaced at some point.
The cover of the laptop is a fingerprint magnet.
When benchmarking CPU speed in both single and Multicore tests using Cinebench20 this laptop fell behind an 8th Generation Intel Core I7 8750H with 8GB of Ram and an NVIDIA GeForce 1050GTX. But that was a gaming laptop that is bulkier than the Dell with a huge power brick.
The price is a bit much for a laptop series that used to be considered an affordable reliable laptop.
Things I hated:
The fingerprint security key is a hit and miss, it is far behind in accuracy and speed and won’t read correctly half the time. Maybe a new software update would solve the issue but for now, am sticking with password or pin.
Finally, I am very happy with this Dell Inspiron laptop and its features and usability. And considering the long history of the Inspiron series, this is going to be a dependable laptop that would last for at least 4 years before becoming obsolete. The laptop was cool and quiet almost all the time except when benchmarking and rendering videos with Premier.

The ultimate charging station
on October 1, 2019
Posted by: AKK1
from Fairfax, VA, USA
Am sure I am like most people living among countless electronics that needs constant charging, from tablets to phone to laptops that switched from normal charging ports to USB-C.
This charger was the answer to all problems because it is a fast charger, that is well built and can charge multiple devices at the same time.
In the box comes:
- USB-C charger
- USB-C charging cable
- And a quick setup guide (that no one reads).
The USB-C port has up to 3A output charging capability which is
Very fast.
- The 2 normal USB ports can charge at 2.4A or 3.6A depending on
If you are using one or both ports at the same time.
- The real jewel here is the 8 ft. USB-C to USB- C charging cable. It
Is the thickest, most well built cable I have seen in my life to date.
The platinum brand is a good brand, backed by BestBuy and it has
A lifetime limited warranty.

Ethernet adapter that's built right
on October 1, 2019
Posted by: AKK1
from Fairfax, VA, USA
Since most new laptops and 2 in 1's come without an Ethernet port these days, I went through quite a few cheap one's over the past few years.
Platinum Ethernet adapter is different in many ways.
- It is very well built, with metal casing, and thick solid cable and a
Strong USB 3 jack,
- It is a Giga Bit Ethernet adapter which means it works with high
Speed data transfer.
- It is USB 3 which is faster.
- It is of course plug and play, meaning there is no need for any
Drivers to be installed.
- It fits in any laptop bag no matter how small it is.
- This brand is backed up by BestBuy and it has a life time warranty.

Super fast tablet
on September 26, 2019
Posted by: AKK1
from Fairfax, VA, USA
I needed a new tablet to use for media watching, quick Teamviewer remote access when am on the fly, and for GSuite use to collaborate on projects.
This tablet met all my needs and more!
- the screen is big enough to be close to a laptop or a 2 in 1
- the resolution of the screen is amazing
- the multitouch is super responsive (what you'd expect from a high end tablet like this).
- processing is very fast and the 6 GB memory has a lot to do with this.
- the S pen included is wonderful and so easy to use for notes, and work projects, and to use instead of your finger as well.
- the magnet holder of the pen is strong enough to hold it in place
- the design and color of the tablet are very professional and slim so it can fit in with a laptop bag with ease.
- its not as loaded with bloatware as you might think, and the Android 9 version on the tablet is close to Pure android.
- the sound of this tablet is AMAZING with 4 speakers total (2 on each side of the tablet).
- The tablet has a USB type C port to use for charging, data transfer to other devices, and for using as a headphone port since there is no headphone jack.
- battery life is decent when using, and it drops about 30% every 24 hours when not using it. the tablet also charges the S Pen when the pen is connected to the tablet.
- the software and apps are what you would expect from an Android 9 device.
things I dont love about the tablet:
- the finger print isn't the fastest on the market by any means.
- the fact that there is no headphone jack is sad because this is an almost an 11 inch tablet so there is no excuse not to have one.
- battery life could be better.
- the charger that comes with the tablet is not a fast charger at all, it takes about 3 hours to charge it to 100%
- the tablet is pricey, especially if you decided to get the keyboard cover then you would definitely be in high end Microsoft Surface territory.
all in all, this is a great tablet with great power & it meets the needs of almost anyone with any interest whether its for light work or media use.

Silent & Cool
on August 13, 2019
Posted by: AKK1
from Fairfax, VA, USA
This review is for GE - 125 Can / 31 Bottle Beverage and Wine Center - Stainless steel.
First of all let me tell you why this is an EXPENSIVE beverage cooler. the answer is simple: This is a cooler that is designed to be used in a cabinet or as part of you storage. meaning, it does NOT require any space between the actual cooler and the wall or cabinet.
It is designed to fit into cabinets with Zero space between the back, the sides, and the wall.
What a design like this requires, is a system that does not need ventilation and does not over heat. and the cooler meets both requirements flawlessly.
Finally, this cooler is Silent, like always silent. no buzzing, no humming, no sounds at all (except for the first 12 hours after installation and the initial cooling period).
The door hinges can be swapped to change the opening from right to left & vice versa.
The cooler has a light that can be either always on or always off.
the least temperature i could set for the cooler is 41 degrees Fahrenheit. which is great for all sort of drinks.
This cooler is a home run, it keeps my drinks cool at the desired degree, you cannot hear it, its always cool on the outside and it doesn't get warm or hot on the outer sides, and its well designed and built.

Project photos, Web content and more from your mobile device to your HDTV with this Actiontec ScreenBeam Mini 2 SBWD60A01 wireless receiver, which features a USB interface for simple setup and supports Windows 8.1, Wi-Fi Miracast and Intel® WiDi.

I purchased this item, a LG television, and a Pixel XL the same day. Can not get my cell connected, phone will not give me any options in the cast window. Downloaded the screen beam app and still nothing. Help.

All devices should be connected to the same wifi network in order for them to interact with each others. you do not need to download a screen sharing app like screen beam as both your AirTV and your Google Pixel Xl have google cast built in. check your wifi setting and follow the instructions carefully to hook up the devices together.

Cut The Cord with AirTV Player. Stream movies, TV, music and other content using a wide range of apps, including Netflix, SlingTV, Google Play and many more from the Google Play Store all with AirTV Player. AirTV’s streaming platform integrates local over-the-air (OTA) programming with your streaming services. The AirTV Adapter and an OTA antenna provide local channels like ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX, without a monthly cable bill.

Does this require an Internet connection to use? I just want to receive analog ota tv programs and Bluetooth connectivity.

Yes, it does internet connection in order for you to be able to set it up. It doesn't support bluetooth for casting between devices, it uses your home Wifi.

Garmin Speak™ Plus with Amazon Alexa is what you love about Amazon Alexa, now in your vehicle. Use voice control for hands-free access to music, news, navigation and more. Plus, a built-in dash cam gives you forward collision and lane departure warnings.

Is it going to use GPS for direction just like any other Garmin GPS devices or some aid from phone app?

It uses its own GPS direction and does not need help from the phone.

Does it provide parked car monitoring; recording events by motion and g-sensor while unoccupied? (Car off, no phone connected. Understand power would still need to be supplied.)

No it does not work when phone is not connected via Bluetooth.

Does this have a rechargeable battery? Does Garmin work with satellite in phone is out of range?

it does not have a rechargeable battery, and it doesn't use your phone data as it has its own GPS receiver.

From what I can tell from the photos, it only has a basic display showing arrows and distances (just like many 1st gen GPS's in the 90s). Can the display show dashcam images? Also, is there a way to have the GPS map displayed on the phone navigating?

the answer to both questions is no. you can't see dash images on the device itself but you can on your phone and you can share across social media or save it to your phone (depending on your phone).
you also can't see the map on the phone.
