This is a must own for any Gene Hackman fan, a classic among suspense and spy movies and a must own for any Gene Hackman fan. They don't make them like this anymore. But that is just my opinion. This and 3 Days of the Condor. Two of the more predominant spy movies of that era.

The actor himself has always been a very versatile actor and flexible at changing from action to drama at the drop of a hat. Lacking from the beginning

Considering I grew up with Mickey and Donald, and Pluto, this may sound harsh, but the movie itself isn't bad, but it tends to lack the depth of most Disney movies and focuses more on the graphics and the exploits of the technology age, where as the empathy for the character and their battle internally is somewhat lacking.
I mean granted it is about destroying the evil sisters. But there really isn't the draw for the emotional depth the older Disney movies had.
You get the impression they are trying too hard to make the character seem more important than the story really is

This is just another remake of the older movie. Think of the movie Vice Versa, or Freaky Friday, only with an animal. Kevin Spacey does a decent job at playing the part and the part is a cat. For all it's quirky one liners and throw backs to the older movies, it's decent for a lower budget film. I mean acting only get's you so far with a movie dependent as the cat as the main character. Not bad for the script given.

This is another prime example of how experience and active imagination can take a book and make it a reality in Hollywood. Granted this is Hollywood we are talking about, but the plot and the synapses itself are what builds this movie. It's like anything else, if the plot is sound and the acting is good, 9 out of 10 times the movie will be decent.
The acting was decent and the plot was good for the book, but the movie itself will definitely keep any action thriller junkie entertained for the length of the movie.
