Great hood nice features. The extension kit is perfect for 9-10 foot ceilings as the main hood as sold is 2 inches too short for 9 ft ceilings (Bummer!!). If u have high ceilings be aware that u must purchase this extension or the install will be impossible.

Does each strip or 6.6' section need to be plugged in? I am looking to use them in kitchen for either over/under cabinet lighting, I would need 3-4 sections depending on over or under.
Yes each strip needs to be plugged into an outlet. You also need the bridge which plugs into outlet and router. I used 4 strips for my kitchen and it worked out perfectly!
