Captain Phillips is an exciting story based on real-life events. The pacing of the story held my attention and kept me engaged throughout the movie. The extra features confirmed the plight of the pirates and their limited choices making their characters in the movie seem even more real. Very engaging without objectionable level of violence.

If you love J.R.R. Tolkien fan, you should enjoy this movie. There is some embellishment to the story but this adds to the overall excitement instead of detracting. If you are a Tolkien purist, then you did not enjoy part one and will not like this one either. The extras on the disc are enjoyable. The scenery is truly amazing. If you are looking for an enjoyable adventure fantasy tale, you have the right movie.

I read the book this movie was based on years ago and stumbled on the DVD. The DVD was very true to the book and is a gripping true tale. Seeing these people's struggle and will to survive fit with my images from the book. If you are looking for a action thriller without much violence or bloodshed, this film is for you.
