Excellent Remote!

This remote is Awesome! I am able to control several devices like my:
1. DISH Network Hopper with Sling DVR,
2. Yamaha Aventage RX-A1070
3. OPPO UDP-205 and OPPO UDP-203
4.LG OLED65E6P
5.Samsung UN65JS8500
6. SAMSUNG UBD-K8500
7. SAMSUNG UN55JS7000
8. SAMSUNG LN52A650
9.Roku 4K
10. Sharp Aquos 60 inch tv
11. DISH NETWORK SUPER Joey
12. SONY PS4
This remote is awesome and much better then the Harmony hub that I first tried out as it was a cheaper alternative to the 950 but with voice control which failed with my Google Home and i don't own the Amazon Echo to try it out with the Harmony Hub. Anyways if you are looking to releave your 8+ remotes in your home then this is the device for you! However keep in mind that the PS4 is NOT compatible with the Harmony 950 as it is only compatible with bluetooth remotes. The 950 is IR.
The only thing I don't like about this remote is that the program to set up the hamony 950 forced me to count my PS4 as one of the 15 devices in order to create a task for my tv and A/V receiver to turn on my tv and set my receiver to input AV2.
I also wish that the buttons were lit brighter than they are, they are too dim for me even to see at night but it's not a deal breaker.
Other then that I highly recommend this Harmony 950, it's the same remote as the elite but with out the hub which also comes with 1 IR blaster if you buy it alone or with 2 IR Blasters if you get it as the Elite package.

OPPO UDP-203!

That's right Gentlemen, I was able to obtain a OPPO UDP-203 4K PLAYER one of the only players that can play Dolby Vision content. I am using this player wirh a LG OLED E6 and love it! I am extremely happy with the respect and courtesy I received at the Burbank Magnolia center inside of the best buy store. Matter of fact I am going to return tomorrow to place an order for the klipsch RP-450C which is sold by magnolia but not bestbuy. As long as I can keep using my BestBuy credit card for purchases at Magnolia A/V center I'll keep buying!

I love this Anime but....

Like the title says, I really do love this Anime. Both my wife and I enjoy it so we bought the bluray version in hopes to see a more clear and remastered picture on our LG OLED E6 but we were left disappointed. The picture Quality is only about 30% clearer then the DVD. We were hoping to see an improvement on the contrast and sharpness of the anime but its not at all what we expected. The surround decoding is awesome though and 100% improved on the 5.1 scale everything sound accurate and you can hear background that you can't hear on the dvd. The refresh rate was also improved from 30 FPS to 60 FPS so it does have a much smoother motion over the DVD but other then that, that's pretty much it. Now if you already own both seasons 1 and 2 DVDs, I would NOT recommend it to you. but if this is the first time that you are buying it then yes, I would highly recommend this copy as you are getting both seasons for under fifty dollars vs paying forty dollars per season in DVD format. I tried to upload an image showing proof that I have officially received my copy today which is 11/10/2017 but the picture is too large to upload so I gave up trying. Again I am NOT hating on the show, I really like this anime but the bluray is not worth it if you already own the dvds.

They sound pretty decent.

Like my title says, they do sound pretty decent. They are very light weight and pretty comfortable, I have even fell asleep while watching a YouTube video before bed on my Samsung Galaxy note 5 using these earphones and i noticed no discomfort at all.
When it comes to sound they sound very bright and what I mean by that is that the higher frequencies overkill the low frequencies by about 50% the bass response which is the lower end frequencies can be heard ok but it's not as loud as I would like it to be, when it comes to Bass on a scale of 1 to 10 I give it a 7 as it is much to be desired, you can hear it but not as loud as the higher frequencies. Now when it comes to the cord on the earphones, it is honestly very flimsy and feels like if I accidentally yank it a little too hard, the cable can tare off from the earphone making them useless. When it comes to phone calls, some people.can hear me pretty clear and some hear my voice muffled. I can answer and end calls with it but the volume control doesn't work but it's not a big deal for me.
I can compare these easily to the earphones you get with most Android smartphones like my samsung note 2 and 3. My note 5 didnt come with any so I also had a pair of klipsch XR8i Hybrid earphones which I really liked due to their awesome bass response and clarity but unfortunately I cannot recommend them because they are extremely expensive and though they sound good, they were replaced 3 times by the 1 year warranty because 1 tweeter driver on the left side and 1 woofer driver on the right side kept breaking inside the earphones which was weird. Once the 1 year warranty was over, the last replacement pair broke in 2 months of use for the same exact reason and I only used them at night watching Netflix, YouTube and some Anime off of Funimation and Crunchyroll at low to medium volume, so that is why I bought these cheaper Sony earphones to replace the expensive ones. Now for the price of these Sony earphones under twenty dollars, they do the job well and serve my purpose of bedtime YouTube video watching till I fall asleep. Would I recommend them? Yes because they get the job done and they are very affordable and very comfortable too so if these break, I can simply order another pair with no problem of breaking the bank vs the klipsch earphones that costed me almost $300.00 dollars. They sounded excellent while they worked but not worth it. BestBuy is no longer selling the XR8i's either because of faulty parts in the driver's. Anyways do not expect these to have a good amount of bass because they don't really have it however they do sound decent and get the job done. In the picture below you will see my new cheap Sony earphones in the right vs my Expensive paper weight edition klipsch earphones on the left.

They have a higher eBay funds card at the stores

I am so glad I chose to step into my local store. Turns out that at my local store, they have the same $25.00, $50.00 cards that are sold online but they also have another eBay card where you can load from $25.00 to $200.00! I needed to buy a very Unique Korg Vintage Synth Rack and the cost was $157.00 and unfortunately I did not have enough cash to pay for it direct out of pocket but on my bestbuy card I had plenty of funds to cover the cost. I took my chances and bought the card at the store and within minutes of buying the card I was able to place my order on eBay before anyone else would snatch this deal from me. Very happy that BestBuy offers these higher funding eBay cards. I will definitely use this card again vs the $25.00 and $50.00 cards that seem to be the main cards only available online. I wish they would bring the card I bought at the bestbuy store online. I'm sure lots of people would buy these.

Finally something that works well.

I got this receiver as an upgrade after returning my Aventage RX-A770 Receiver, the only reason I returned that one was because I needed more HDMI inputs and I also needed the Component input to accept 480P to have the best possible Gaming experience on my older game consoles like my Nintendo Wii, PS2 and GameCube. Some of these consoles automatically switch to 480P when their is a specific game and some ask for permission to upscale to 480P from 480i and on the RX-A770/870 it wont accept the 480P signal only 480i. But I am pretty happy with this 1070 version.
The good part: All the rear HDMI ports are 4K HDCP2.2 compatible and from my testing have accepted the lowest signal I could possibly through at it which is 480i all the way to 4K Native with HDR support and the two Component inputs accept signals from 480i to 1080i which is awesome if you have older game consoles that use a component cable,
there are also Composite inputs that also work for other devices, but the upscaling isnt that great for composite but works well if you just choose the video "direct" instead of video "processing" for the inputs.
the decoding for movies has been amazing with a lot of detail and the voice of the center channel sounds plenty loud. Pandora internet radio works great, wifi signal remains strong and Bluetooth seems to have improved vs the 2016 model, i was able to get 43ft distance from the RX-A1070 and my samsung Galaxy Note 5 playing music from it till it started to cut out a bit at 44 feet.
I cant speak for the other services as i am not subscribed to them but im sure they work well, this is the receiver to go for Period!
Now for the Bad part: Yamaha went cheap in the inputs and are now using internal automatic switching between devices once it senses a voltage signal which means that the HDMI 1 and HDMI 2 signals are being shared with both Component 1 and component two. To get audio from component you must connect the left and right RCA cables to the AV1 and AV2 inputs accordingly and have the audio input on the receiver set to auto so that it can switch automatically. If you have a DVR that doesn't fully power off and have something connected to the component inputs DO NOT CONNECT YOUR DIRECT TV OR DISH HOPPER DVR TO THE FIRST TWO HDMI INPUTS! or you will never be able to get it to auto switch. There is also no way to control that so If you have a Bluray player connected to HDMI 1 and a Wii for example to component 1 keep in mind that they share the same signal with AV1 for auto switching and The device you are not using will have to be powered off completely in order to enjoy using The component signal and The same goes for HDMI 2 and component two and so on and so on with AV3 AV4 etc.
I fell like they should have separated all of those inputs or at least mention this very important information in the specs.
Another thing I noticed is that certain music seems to have quite a bit of distortion and muddy at medium volume and gets worse as you turn it up using my Klipsch Reference premier speakers vs the Yamaha RX-A770 which sounded amazing with music but good with movie audio decoding.
The bottom line: this is a great receiver to own, everything works pretty well for what it is, there is plenty of power to push your speakers and in all honesty there has not been any issues with 4k hand shacking and both my tvs Samsung UN65JS8500 and LG 65 OLED E6 have been working great with it with the LG OLED being the main tv that was permanently paired with it after the test I did.
I highly recommend this receiver to anyone looking to have a real future proof receiver, well at least till they come up with a new HDMI design that is.
The cooling fan unit on top of my RX-A1070 is a AirCom T8 by A.C. Infinity

If I could give No Stars I would.

My Yamaha Aventage RX-A740 has been at the Chino Geek Squad service center 6 times now since march 2015, i am very dissatisfied with the service i keep receiving from them.
The last 3 times has been for some HDMI handshaking issues with both my LG 65 inch OLED E6 and Samsung 65 inch JS8500 which I know that the receiver is not HDCP 2.2 compatible but it left me scratching my head with the fact that everything is running in 1080P and not 4k to avoid problems as receivers are not that cheap to be replacing yearly.
With that said, the techs at the Chino location just keep doing "Factory Resets" and run very cheap tests with their Inginia 1080p tv's and cheap speakers to see that everything is working fine but thats after the Factory reset and send it right back to me in the same conditions.
I have been having nothing but problems with them and it's giving me a headache, what was supposed to be peace of mind has turn into a possible Aneurysm for me to NOT look forward to.
I've been Arguing with the techs at my local Best buy in Glendale,CA over the cheap work the Chino,CA Geek squad techs keep doing.
today 8/2/17 I finally got fed up eith the techs attitude problem after i called them because my receiver has been "in transit" since 7/26/17 and no one can tell me when it's going to arrive for me to pick up my $700.00 dollar paper weight that was dropped off on 7/23/17.
The Home Theater manager at Best buy didnt want to help me when i brough it in because he said it had to be shipped oit again to get checked. I was hoping to use the lemon law for a replacement unit but that might never happen as I was told by the rude tech that they have to "service the item with phycical parts" 3 time and factory resets are not part of the lemon law in their book of course.
I don't feel like hiring a Advocate/attorney just for a $649.99 defective receiver. I will probably lose even more money doing that.
Now, Because of the way i keep being treated and the techs poing fingers at my $4,500.00+ Klipsch Reference Premier 7.2 surround sound speakers as being the cause of the problem stating that one or all of my speakers are probably defective which they are not but, I proved it with a demo video from my smart phone showing the problem and they keep ignoring it even though I currently have a Yamaha RX-V663BL working with 5 out of the 7 speakers because it's only a 5.2 unit everything works so it's NOT my speakers or cables because if it was this 2008 model receiver would also have shorten out.
Matter of fact the techs keep saying it was my HDMI cables so I bought 5 $30+ dollar rocket fish cables to satisfy the techs and they still keep saying it's an issue on my end.
I found this service to be hopeless and I don't know what to do. I told them to please inspect the HDMI board to see if there is a lose soldering point and they did absolutely nothing!
The tech told me over the phone that all they did was connect their hdmi cables did a factory reset and all was working fine.
Once again pointing fingers at my other cables and gear. Well im not gonna spend any more money on HDMI cables!
I recommend that you stay away from the Geek Squad services when it comes to Tablets, phones, A/V receivers and tv's.
Bluray players and hand held Game Consoles seems to be the only thing they properly cover under warranty.
Because of this incident I decided to play it safe and cancelled both my Samsung JS8500 and LG OLED E6 warranties and got back over $1,200 dollars "prorated" that will be credited back in 7 days to both my Best buy card and credit card.
This was a very unlawful move from Best guy's geek squad and not even the main corporate line wanted to help me with this serious issue. I will never buy a warranty from them again, Yamaha let me knownthat it could be the HDMI board and yet when I mentioned it to the tech at the chino,CA location he gave me no recognition to my concerns like I was nothing to them. Well there goes $119.00 of a useless 4 year warranty which only provide factory resets. It's Not even worth cancelling it because I will probably not get anything back, as it is they want me to pay them $35.00 for shipping my receiver back to their store in their own branded shuttle van and I told the guy I will NOT pay for that as they did no phycical work at all.

Amazing OLED Panel
on April 4, 2017
Posted by: MrRuiz33
Verified Purchase:Yes
this 65 inch E6 OLED TV is awesome! i decided to get one of these because it finally went on sale, im not gonna lie, there is no way i would have been able to afford $5,500 plus a 5 year replacement warranty purchase that i was able to add for less then the E6's retail price, well at least not in cash lol. anyways........
i originally wanted to get a 78 inch Samsung QLED Q9 EDGE LIT not (Full Array), but then found out that the Flagship Q9 was only going to be available in a 55 inch for $2,999.99, a 65 inch model for $6,999.99 and finally an 88 inch for $19,999.99.
when i found out of those prices, as a BIG Samsung fan i found that to be unjustified, specially since they basically renamed the 2015 SUHD Quantum Dot TECH "QLED" for 2017. i have a Samsung UN65JS8500 that is an Edge Lit 4K TV just like the new 2017 QLED's and its awesome and i really do enjoy watching my movies and game console play on it but again its Edge Lit which mean, yes you do indeed get a brighter picture, more vibrant colors due to the Quantum Dot Tech but dark gray scale black levels which is BAD! so i decided to turn to LG when i finally got to see the E6 for the first time and at $3,499.99 it was a great move and an offer i just couldn't refuse.
i couldn't believe my eyes on the nice picture quality, the reason for the 4 stars is because though the panel is beautiful when it comes to black levels, it doesn't do that great when it comes to brightness and the color is "a bit" under saturated even after calibration vs the JS8500, the other part of that 4 star rating is also because there is no way for me to turn off this Auto Dimming feature it has when the panel detects lighting from its front sensor in the living room. so when the lights are off it automatically darkens up the panel when i actually want it bright to show off the Black levels to my Guest.
All energy saving settings are OFF and the OLED Lighting is at 100% so im not sure if its just my panel but this one does that. other then that its an awesome panel and i would highly recommend it.
As for permanent (BURN IN) damage or temporary (IMAGE RETENTION) on the OLED E6, we have not experienced that yet, however we are very cautious about it as we read many reviews prior to buying an OLED 4K TV and turn the TV off when we have a show on pause specifically on our PS4 or Dish Hopper as those devices DO NOT have a screen saver to prevent burn in on any TV.
The only devices we have that do have a screen saver and activate after a couple of minutes to prevent burn on is our Samsung UBD-K8500 4k bluray player and the built in Apps on the E6 that turn on in about 3 minutes after the E6 detects no voltage signal on the HDMI cables.
As for my Samsung UN65JS8500, it is now part of my Bedroom but my 65 inch OLED E6 is the star of my home. i advice you to get one while they are still on sale and before they are GONE and the new 2017 models come in with an even higher price tag. thank you Bestbuy and CITI Bank for the 24 months No Interest Financing. i look forward to paying off the tv in 12 months instead of 24 months and buy a higher end A/V Receiver. to pair with my Klipsch Reference Premier Home Theater Speakers. current Yamaha RXA740 is not HDCP 2.2 compatible and its a pain to deal with. but still sounds good.

can this remote work on bluetooth such as ps4

Unfortunately no it won't. The harmony hub can work with it but keep in mind that you will need to use the Harmony app on your smartphone to control your ps4 and if you use it alot your smartphone battery won't even last half the day. I ended up returning the hub and got the PDP ps4 media remote and then for the rest of my Devices I got the Harmony 950. Hope that helps.
