I've had the original j3 for a bit now and this is a very good and updated version. Seamless transition from my original including texts from last phone from the last month (you have the option of going back further) That being said its a lot cleaner screen view. Its pretty much a new phone without that annoying break in period.

Can you edit items from a SD/Memory card without using a File Editing app?
If you have a computer simply do it using Finder on mac or your file manager in Windows. But if you wanted to delete or modify a picture you can absolutely. If you can be more specific about what your looking to do I can give you a better and more thorough answer. Basically though if you are on the phone
1. goto settings
2. storage
3. memory card
4. click on what type of file you are looking to edit, I.e apps , pics , movies , music,....
5. go about editing in your normal fashion
6. Either save over the file and only have the updated version or save the update as a new file and have access to both. <- that would apply to pictures and documents mostly but its all pretty straight forward. Hope this helps.
Also make sure you back up your phone prior to doing anything and you can always refer to the backup in case of an error or issue.

If I can't get 4g in my area will it go to 3g?
Yes, it will but even better than that you can go into the setting and specify that you only want to be on the 3g network. In other words if you are constantly getting 1 bar in 4g you can make the phone never try to connect to 4g and limit it to the 3g band. Pretty cool feature. No need to root no extra firmware no jailbreaks just a swipe away.
