Zach Braff is back! Nearly a decade since Garden State came out, Braff comes out with Wish I Was Here. The casting choices are perfect, the dialogue and script are wonderful, and the story is beautiful. This film relates entirely to the human condition.
The Hateful Eight is everything you could ask for from Quentin Tarantino, a masterful and fun storyteller. While this film may not be considered Tarantino's best film, it should at least be considered; it could be argued as one of his greatest films, but with competition like Inglorious, Pulp Fiction, and Kill Bill, its difficult to definitively argue, but this film should not be overlooked.
Captain America has solidified itself as the best thing to come out of Marvel Studios. I am not the biggest fan of Marvel Studios, but the Captain America trilogy (especially The Winter Soldier and Civil War) transcend the organization. Like other Marvel Studios productions (not to mention most every superhero movie made) Civil War is formulaic at times, but its innovative, creative, and grandiose vision outshine any cliches presented in the film.
I saw this movie with my girlfriend; she read the book before we went to see it. I did not read the book, but I thoroughly enjoyed the story, filled with romance, comedy, tragedy, drama, and something everyone can relate to, the human condition.
In the second season of this anthology series about unusual police investigations, Vince Vaughn and Colin Farrell star as detectives trying to solve a bizarre murder case in the corrupt city of Vinci, California.
Nobody can deny that Matthew McConaughey was the best part of True Detective in its first season. And the storyline was great in the first season too. This time around, for season 2, Nic Pizzolato is without Cary Joji Fukunaga and without McConaughey. For a large number of critics this season was a letdown and suffered a sophomoric slump. In reality, season 2 benefits from a better and more fulfilled and well rounded cast, an intricate plotline, and a setting just as fascinating as the first season's. Season 2 of True Detective is not perfect, but Pizzolato set out on a very daring quest to bring us something as good as season 1 and he succeeded in surpassing it.
This is my favorite Quentin Tarantino film (both volumes, making for one great movie!). And this is a great deal, two volumes for just $10. These are two great movies, at one great price!
