A fictional story, based on facts in biblical times. Good acting and the story is well paced. Friends watching, even from a non-religious viewpoint, found this film interesting. A Roman officer must discover what happened to Jesus' body after the crucifixion, to dispel rumors of a risen Messiah. This movie will stimulate your thinking with the questions it raises.
A gripping story. A mother is struggling with her faith, trying to understand why God would allow disease to set upon her child. A second tragedy involving the child brings the family to the breaking point. Understanding is reached at the end when a miracle occurs, inspiring those around them. Overall this is a good, well acted Christian movie.
The overall movie is better than the previous two installments. Those that watched the show originally in the 60-70's (not just TOS) may be trying to get used to some of the changes in character traits. Some good, some odd. The interactions between Spock & McCoy are the highlight of the film.
The Avengers are torn in two. Both sides seeking to do the right thing. Captain America: The good heart, seeking to do the logical. or Tony Stark: The analytical mind, overcome by emotions and guilt.
I thought this movie would have been better titled Furiosa, considering the character seems to be the lead more than Max. I enjoyed the previous Mad Max movies more. However, the visual cinematics added to this movie in a different way, making it enjoyable to watch.
Truer to the Marvel comics Deadpool. Brilliant one liners, well choreographed violent fight sequences, breaking the 4th wall. There was more than expected profane humor, and partial nudity. - For which I almost gave it 4 stars for being a little "over the top" in that regard.
This hard hitting release for fans of martial arts cinema includes all three films from the Ong Bak trilogy, starring Tony Jaa: Ong Bak: The Thai Warrior, Ong Bak 2, and Ong Bak 3.
R. Lee Ermey was a Marine drill instructor during his tenure in the Corps, making for the best Marine Corps bootcamp scene in any movie. The movie primarily follows Private Joker with a series of interwoven vignettes. It is a look into Vietnam, and the struggles of wartime, to keep yourself and your comrades alive.
I only picked this up because it was nominated for awards and it was on sale. The movie has a very real feel to it that draws the viewer into the lives of the main characters. Well worth the watch. 5 Academy Award Nominations
There are two roles that were made for Vin Diesel: Dominic Toretto & Riddick. This next installment harkens to old sci-fi style. Vin Diesel has a passion for the character of Riddick, and he felt like he made a promise to the fans to continue it. He put up his own home to fund much of the budget. The budget was only 2/5ths of The Chronicles of Riddick, it shows, but they make the most of it for the fans.
