If you are looking for a wide range of rock songs from the past 40 years or so and across various genres (pop, folk, new wave, hard rock), then try this on for size. Careful that you look at both the artists AND songs, and make sure that you are getting what you want. many of the songs listed here were not previously in my collection, and perhaps that is why i bought it. Hidden gems are sometimes the best things to find.

Don't skip the unfamiliar songs

Personally, I am OK if a compilation this size throws in some non-singles from popular artists. I get introduced to a whole new avenue and perhaps a song I really like. Plus, it's 100 songs...you can live with a few surprises. This CD stands out because it gives you pop, new wave and even some R&B. Enjoy the diversity and son't skip the unknowns. Honestly, I could have done without Mambo No. 5 and Macarena, but the vast majority of this CD is solid. again, re-check the artists' names and not just the song title. There are some versions here that may not meet your expectations. Of course, it's 100 songs...so that makes up for some disappointments.
