Nice upgrade from my 30 year-old smaller wires

Purchased this roll of heavier gauge wire to replace some speaker wire that I have had over 30 years in which the plastic jacket and wires had become brittle and unstable. These wires should last me the rest of my life withstanding many years of use for my audio system equipment even if they're moved al lot or exposed to some heat or humidity. Not sure if they're better than other brands for any specific reason, but they do the job just fine.

I recently installed a kit to provide wireless sound to my rear speakers in our family room. So, I needed some speaker stands for my speakers (a set of small Energy speakers). Once installed, my wife thought they looked kind of sexy in our family room set-up. Then, rather than have the front speakers sitting on a wall ledge, we decided to get another set of these stands for the front speakers as well. The look good, they're easy enough to put together, solid, stable and I like the fact that the speaker wires can be run through the vertical pole keeping the wires out of sight. Use normal gauge speaker wire - it will go much easier. I used heavy gauge wire and it was difficult to pull through the hole in post.

For some time, I was looking to find a way to add rear speakers to my family room without running wires across the room. I have a nice audio system connected to my TV, great speakers and wanted the "surround" effect when watching movies, etc. This kit did the trick. No problems since install about a month ago. Initially, I discovered I had it connected backwards with the larger unit connected to my receiver - but it is the smaller unit that sends, the larger unit that receives. Once I figured this out, no problems. I am really enjoying the sounds in my newly re-carpeted and re-painted family room that can now be filled with surround-sound from my wireless rear speakers.
