I had been eyeing the nuvi 3597LMTHD for over a year, but holding off on buying one because of the expense. I couldn't justify the cost when I had a smartphone with Google maps. But Google maps had a habit of over-heating my phone's battery and turning off, usually at a critical point in my journey. I finally had enough and bought the nuvi. WOW! Why did I wait so long? Directions, maps, and pictures on the 5" screen are perfect. The Bluetooth connectivity to my car and cellphone are easy and seamless making my trips much easier and safer. Voice command is a little troublesome at times, but getting easier as I get use to the interface. Just like power windows, I'll never go back to using my smartphone.

This unit delivers. A few weeks ago my new MAX2 started chirping a Ka band radar signal while I was driving a hilly, windy country road. Two miles later I pass a county sheriff sittling in a parking lot. Talk about warning time. I installed my Nest v2 with only one slight problem as it wouldn't connect to my WiFi at first. I made some changes in my router settings and it's been smooth sailing ever since. My wife and I work different schedules so it is difficult to know when one of us will be home or not. However, with the app on our smartphones we can easily set the thermostat before we leave work and have the house at a comfortable temperature when we get home. I highly recommend the Nest.

I'm not quite confident that this gets a good grip on my phone when I try to pinch it between the pads. The pads seem a bit stiff and could be a bit softer to get a better grip on the phone. I've had it slip out of the holder a couple times on a recent trip. Other than that it works well. I particularly like the vent clips instead of having to put the suction cup arm on my windshield. I recommend this with the above caveat in mind.
