Android In A Flip Phone
on March 10, 2017

Verified Purchase:Yes
I purchased the ZTE Cymbal T as a replacement for my old LG420G flip phone and I am very happy with it !
It runs Android Lollipop and has a touchscreen and although the screen is 3.5 inches, I can type on it fine...
I also have email in addition to texting and phone calling.
It gives triple minutes of calling minutes and texts (a 200 minute card will provide 600 minutes and 600 texts and 600 MB of data) if you buy the standard time card and not the smartphone card which won't give you the triple minutes...
The screen doesn't auto rotate and there's no option for it in the settings...
It's a comfortable phone to hold and the keys are large and you can text with them, but I find the on screen keyboard far easier to use...
All in all, I love it !
Mobile Submission: True
I would recommend this to a friend!

Will this work in zipcose area 21539

I don't see the ZTE Cymbal T listed for sale in your zip code...You should contact Tracfone to double check...

Will this phone support Facebook Messenger? Thx.

I think that it does, but I don't use Facebook messenger on it because Tracfone doesn't have an unlimited data plan, although you could "load up" the phone with minutes, texts, and data...

Will this phone receive an Android software update in the near future or will it be stuck on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop?

I don't know since neither Android nor ZTE has said anything...

I also have the ZTE ZMAX PRO and did receive an update to its Android 6.0.1 OS ...

The fact that the Cymbal T is a flip phone should not matter...

As for me, the upgrade is not that important... I have an old LG420G phone with a proprietary OS and it served me faithfully for 5 years before Tracfone shut down its 2g network on 01/31/17...
Seeing a flip phone with Android intrigued me and I bought it...
The Cymbal T is my "going out" phone since I can put it in my pocket and nobody sees that I have a smartphone and thus become a target...

I'm am looking to getting at least as much service from the Cymbal T, if not more...

Since I'm going to be 64 this year, I don't need the phone to be anything more than a phone, texting, and e-mail phone... I'm not into watching movies, videos, streaming music, or gaming...
