The ways in which the developers have expanded and improved upon the original is an amazing thing to experience, whether through the gameplay, size of the world, or next-generation visuals. I have to admit I've only played a God of War 3 and didn't actually complete the game. I enjoy a great hack and slash 3rd person action game, but avoided this series and stuck more to the Souls series and Assassin's Creed world. I have to say that I am completely blown away by this game, whether it be the amazingly stunning world created with it's superfine attention to detail, the intense level of immersion or the overall superb and thoroughly enjoyable experience. Way to go Santa Monica Studios for they have created what I believe to be the game of the year and one of the most stunning achievements on this generation of game console.

I've been a huge fan of Far Cry since the very first installment. Every iteration seems to get better, with more in-depth gameplay, attention to detail and plenty of opportunities to create mayhem as well as just have a rocking good time. The inclusion of guns for hire creates many different possibilities for ways to approach most missions. I highly recommend checking this title out if you have been on the fence and wondering if it is worth the time and money. YES!

There's nothing like imagining yourself as a powerfully augmented, multiple abilities wielding instrument with both morality choices and approach options to either clear a room out with deadly force or simply stun/knock everyone out. Although this game may not be for everyone and sometimes the primarily first person perspective with the cover system being the only in game non-cutscene time where you get a 3rd person view. This game allows you to explore a possible future where augmented humans are treated largely as a minority whom are not to be trusted and looked at with disdain. You could draw quite a few parallels to current day politics and issues with how we treat groups of people whom we view as other. It has pretty good replay value, interesting npcs to interact with, and is a technologically enhanced beautiful albeit somewhat depressing world to explore and have some fun in.

One of my fondest memories from my adolescent playstation years was playing the 4 disc playstation release of Final Fantasy VII. I spent countless hours exploring all the many varied lands and attempting to unlock all the limit breaks and collect all the summons. Unfortunately my after market memory card got corrupt and I lost all my save files and although I've played a few of the other games in the series, this one has satiated my hunger to reconnect with that feeling as well as blow me away with how fully realized a world could be, with the striking visuals, countless side missions, beautifully crafted game engine, great fighting mechanics and those summons giving you a true sense of scale. Excited to see what the DLC may hold as well as the next games Square Enix has in store for us!

True story-telling magic is something I have always loved about video games and it seems these days that it can be harder and harder to come by even with how much of a market the video game industry has these days. I loved playing Ico and Shadow of the Colossus on previous generation playstation systems and this game is an amazing addition to that body of work, while building off of what made those games great and taking it to the next level. It's been over a decade since I played an extreme sports snowboarding game and although it would have been great to include more sport activities with out making them only for season pass/dlc holders there is still lots of fun exploring the many beautifully digitized mountains and regaining some of the thrill of riding on powdery snow and performing 360 spins and carving around in a winter wonderland.
