It's Okay

I'll keep this simple. It's not really "complete." The set is missing two episodes from the previous release. The 2008 release contained the episodes "Stage Fight" and "The Mandarin Island Miss-Match." This release has omitted them since they both feature Jynx. Be aware of this before buying this set.
As for the video quality? Well, it's pretty awful. I can't really put it any other way. Honestly, the early Pokémon DVDs from Viz look awful. Still, unless you track down the original DVDs or the 2008 box set, this'll have to do.

Great Looking SteelBook for a Lackluster Movie

Mainly, I just want to discuss the SteelBook here. I really don't feel like discussing the film. After all, if you like it, then why bother convincing you it isn't good? If you didn't like it, you already have your reasons why/why not. I'll just say that I really think the film was a mess of editing and executive meddling. Not only that, but it seemed to be lacking in the coherency department. It was sloppy.
Anyway, the SteelBook is nice. It has a glossy finish and looks good lined up alongside the Man of Steel and Dawn of Justice SteelBooks. The interior artwork does the job as well. Overall, it's a nice release... packaging wise. The extras are fine. I don't, however, see the point of an extended cut if it's not going to add anything worthwhile to the content of the film or attempt to fix any of the problems with the film. Still, the film shouldn't be riddled with problems upon it's theatrical release.
Anyway, it's a great SteelBook, but the film doesn't deserve it.

Bought it as a gift

I actually just bought this as a gift, but I do own it myself.
It's a solid release. The picture is as good as it will ever be, and the extras from the old DVD are ported over other than the trailers. It's totally worth buying for fans of Batman Beyond and fans of Batman: The Animated Series.

New Season... New Location

Well, at this point, if someone is buying the most recent season of Adult Swim's The Venture Bros., that person is surely a big fan. After all, if a show has done six seasons in roughly twelve years, any viewer at this point must be dedicated. Still, the show itself continues to evolve and change with each passing season. With the show now set in New York and the boys in early adulthood, the only constant is change. So, reviewing the show won't really sway anybody. Perhaps a review of the supplements will do.
The biggest draw, of course, is the special "All This and Gargantua Two." Acting a both the season five finale and the season six premiere, this episode is on the release and features an extended post credit scene which was only available online. Additionally, as is the case with every season from two on, each episode has an audio commentary. These, of course, are the standard commentary one would expect from a Venture Bros. commentary: Unrelated to the show. They're just conversations between writers Jackson Publick and Doc Hammer. If you've heard other commentaries, you know what to expect. They're entertaining if you enjoy just hearing two guys yak for a while. If you enjoy the show and its tone, then, Jackson and Doc should be to your liking. The release also contains a selection of deleted scenes from the entire season. Some of them are great. The rest are good. Also included is recap narrated by Henchman 21 and a collection of on-air Venture Bros. bumps.
All in all, it's a worthwhile investment for any true Venture Bros. fan. The biggest issue? The long wait between seasons!
Go Team Venture!

Fantastic deal no matter the price

As someone who owns earlier releases of both the Batman Year One comic and animated movie, let me say that this is a great repackaging. Honestly, this is great approach for DC to take. The hardcover comic is printed on slightly higher quality paper than the paperback version without the movie. Also, the discs in this set are identical to the previous release. That means the solid commentary track, the great Catwoman short, and all the other bonus features are present on the disc.
The movie itself is a solid adaptation. There are few differences here and there, but that's how an adaptation works. Frankly, the changes are nice and aren't even big changes. They work to help the pacing of the movie. As great as the comic is, some of it wouldn't translate to page as well.
The cast is solid. Bryan Cranston is fantastic a Jim Gordon. Eliza Dushku is solid a Selina Kyle. The weakest link is probably Ben McKenzie's Bruce/Batman. He's not bad, but he doesn't shine the way the rest of the cast does.
Overall, if you want to see the movie and read the comic, this is the set for you!

Fun for kids... not so much adults

The second entry in the Batman Unlimited series, Monster Mayhem, is, if nothing else, a well animated entry. Sadly, there's not a whole lot of other positive things to say. Make no mistake, this isn't a bad film. It's just that the movie is targeted strictly at kids and seems to make no effort to attract adults. That's not a bad thing, but it's a shame no effort was made to try and reach a wider audience. Between this film series being strictly for kids and the thrice annual DC Universe animated movies which are targeted at teens and adults, there's little in terms of DC animation that appeals to all ages.
The bonus features are a nice treat, however. Like the first movie, this release has a selection of DC Nation animated shorts. Notably, the Green Arrow shorts are here along with others including Animal Man and a great Riddler short. There's also the standard video feature (this one on the look of Gotham City and the visual cues taken from Batman Beyond), along with a bonus episode of Batman the Brave and the Bold, and some trailers.
All in all, the movie is worth it to add more DC Nation shorts to your collection. I know that's why I bought this and Animal Instincts. It sure wasn't for the movie.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles return to their Big Apple hometown to meet new friends, confront their nemesis Shredder and develop their mystic powers in this seven-episode collection. Episodes include "Vision Quest," "Return to New York," "Serpent Hunt," "The Pig and the Rhino," "Battle for New York" parts 1 & 2 and "Casey Jones vs. the Underworld."

Decent Relaese of an Okay Series

In all honesty, I'm far from a big fan of Nick's TMNT. I greatly prefer the 2003 series from 4Kids. At this point, I'm purchasing the show because I can't just leave this out of my TMNT collection. The show is fine, but it can't seem to figure out if it wants to be goofy and silly like the '87 toon or a bit more like the original black and white comics. It's fine, but it's far from my favorite version of the characters.

A Stunning Release of a Stunning Film

Rather than focus on the film, I'll focus on the disc. That said, the film itself if solid and well worth owning. Michael Mann's movie is solid. The cast is great. The script it phenomenal.
As for the disc, it's quite a treat. The film looks stunning. The film, which was shot with digital camera in part, looks great. Given the fact that this is an older film, there's a grain to it when the digital camera is in use. Honestly, it's a phenomenal transfer.
The extras are ports from the original DVD and are a bit light, but Mann's commentary is worth a listen.

This release from the cult hit animated action-comedy series Adventure Time includes every episode of the show's fifth season, following the story of Finn the Human, a boy with a taste for danger, who inhabits the post-apocalyptic Land of Ooo, where he engages with fantastical hilarity with his friend Jake.

Solid Release for Adventure Time's Fifth Season
on August 17, 2015

With this season, the show has not only moved further away from being a show made up mostly of random gags and jokes over to a more mythology based series, but it also moves away from being 26 episodes. With that in mind, how do the episodes look on Blu-ray? The look just fine. While there's a great deal of content per disc, they don't look bad.
Now, as for the bonus features, this season is a bit of a departure from previous entries. To begin with, there are no commentaries at all. While doing commentary for every episode for the last 3 seasons might not have been wise given the lack of real info, it would have been nice to hear at least some commentaries.
Still, the Adventure Time Forever featurette provides a nice look into the morale or the crew during the production of the first season. Also, the Easter egg on disc one (it's an image gallery) is nice.
Overall, it's a fun release. Well worth buying for fans of the show. It might not, however, be a good season to use as a jumping on point for beginners given its reliance upon the show's mythology.
