Upgrade from a GTX 1060 6gb

I purchased a 2k 144hz Gsync monitor at a good price and wanted to get a card that could take full advantage of it. The 1060 did a pretty good job maintaining 70-80 fps on most games at high settings, but I wanted more. Caught this 1080 on sale for under $500 ($469) and pulled the trigger. Right now I am averaging 115-120 fps with games on high to ultra settings. The card runs cool (around 55c) and with Gsync the graphics are buttery smooth.

Only at Best BuyPlay games on the NES Classic console with this Insignia wired controller. It mimics the traditional controller's looks, and its buttons are in an identical configuration so game play is the same. This Insignia wired controller has a 10-foot cord to provide plenty of room between it and the console.

Longer cord means more comfortable playing space. Not sure who thought it was a good idea to engineer the controllers included in the NES Classic so short. Most kids (or adults) are not sitting on their floor in front of the tv playing it.

Bought this to pair with my GTX 1060 6gb

I have been using my pc with my tv for the past few years which is fine. I started out with a GTX 660 and about a year and a half ago upgraded to a 1060. I was saving for a gsync monitor as I wanted to get the most out of my graphics card. Saw this on sale for $370 and jumped on it. Out of the box no dead pixels and was able to adjust the colors easily to get a great picture. I bench marked it on Gears of War 4 and am getting on average 75 fps on ultra settings. The lowest the rate dropped was to 65. No tearing when playing the campaign and the multiplayer plays a lot more fluid due to the Gsync. With the 1070 founders addition getting as low as $350 and 1080's being a little more than a hundred more, I may as well get a new card to unlock the full potential of this monitor.

The only drawback is the chat sound can get drowned out so you have to increase the volume which can make the game sound too loud. Does its job for what I need it to do.

Needed a new laptop and was intrigued by the amd processor and intergraded graphics on this and another HP laptop. Needed something that was versatile and had decent battery life. So far this machine has done what I have needed it to do with a decent charge. I am going to upgrade the RAM to 16 gig though to make it a little more snappy under load. For a 7 series CPU you will need a z270 motherboard. This is a z370 series board for 8th generation CPUs. So it will not be compatible.
