A brilliant and captivating movie. Matt Damon's role as Will Hunting. an incredibly talented individual chained to his past and confined only to himself. is exceptionally well portrayed. Robin Williams, as the "last chance" therapist is also incredibly well done. The story line follows a personal realization and reconstruction that has all the right elements to make an exceptionally good movie.
The music on this CD epitomizes Rock N Roll--music that is pure, honest, and downright fun. Such tunes as "China Grove," "Listen to the Music," "Black Water," "South City Midnight Lady," and "Take Me In Your Arms" are undeniable classics. In fact, this entire album is a classic--great music from a great band. BEST OF THE DOOBIES represents Rock N Roll as it should be--the way the Doobie Brothers did it.
Incredible, it was like it was a long time ago and I was playing the cassette in the car. The songs jumped out at me and I knew all the lyrics. What a blast from the past!
I cant say enough about this album, I like every song and have listened to the CD about 4 times already. Definitely a winner! Buy this and you will not regret your purchase. The voices we all love are back! YES
Liked this movie, Tina Fey really captures the emotional life of a woman highly successful in her professional life who finds herself in a quandary about how to find fulfillment now in her personal life as it regards to having a child and ultimately her own family to share it with. Amy Poehler is at her best in this flick as the surrogate who is commissioned with the task of carrying Tina Fey's child into the world, but in the process while doing so finds her own direction in life. Hilarious, smart funny and with a great supporting cast you will enjoy all the way through until its somewhat, but not too, surprising ending.
The story is based on a top-notch bar bouncer (Patrick Swayze) who is compelled to call in his old mentor (Sam Elliot) for an especially tough project. Instead of just busting heads and throwing hoodlums out of the bar, these guys end up having to save the whole town!
This is a B-movie all the way. In my opinion, it COULD be the greatest B-movie of all time. In short, despite being stupid it is also immensely entertaining. The plot is contrived. There are aspects of it that are way, way beyond being remotely believable. It seems the whole movie was inspired by pushing the envelope on the concept of the bar brawl.
You should watch this movie expecting a great check-your-brain-at-the-door flick, and it doesn't disappoint on that count. There are wild west gunfights, love interests, and aliens trying to take over the world -- what more could you ask for? Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, and Olivia Wilde are residents of an old western town attacked by what a local preacher calls "demons." Those demons -- what we call aliens -- pillage and plunder, terrifying the locals and motivating them to drop old rivalries to defeat the new threat.
