I just moved after going through a divorce and my 7.2 system is in storage. Got my Panasonic TC-P65S1 which has decent audio and didn't want to unpack all my surround stuff so I bought this on a whim and wow! I love it! 2 small down firing subs sound killer for such a little package! Great compact all in one unit with great sounds! Bluetooth, multi-HDMI, optical in! Love it! Great bang for the buck!

Can a subwoofer or additional speakers be connected to this unit?
No. has it's own built in subs, (2). They are small but effective for what it is.

Can the Sony 50" KDL50W700B fit on top of this sound system. In the specification section all the dimensions are not provided
If it is LCD/LED it should be EASY as long as it is not Plasma. They weigh over 100 pounds.

Connecting to an older Sony LCD TV
I have an older Sony LCD TV with a non-ARC HTMI port and no optical digital port. Is there any way to connect my recently purchased HT-XT1?
Sorry no way that I can figure. Time to upgrade that TV!

What are the different classes I see and what will work best with windows 7,8,and 8,1?
From what I understand the lower the number the slower, kind of like old camera film. Class 10/ U1 is best for photography and normal video. When you get up in to the digital DSLR's and better video cameras it starts getting in to the XC and up categories but you should have a USB 3.0 reader for those. Hope it helps.
