Basic Microphone for Basic Sound System

I use microphones at my business for various halls rented out for seminars. I don't need anything fancy for something like that, so this does the trick. Not sure this would be ideal for music-related projects, but for people speaking this works just fine.

If you like 80s epic style melodic rock in the vein of Whitesnake and Dokken, then Rage of Angels is worth checking out. The founder of the band use to be in the band Ten, featuring Gary Hughes. Several songs are sung by Danny Vaughn, the lead singer of Tyketto. The album has a mix of various singers, all very good. The only drawback is the songs run a little long. Just when you thing a song should end, it extends for an additional minute or more.

The Start of a Great Band

Let me be clear, this is not a great album. If you've never heard of this band, don't start with this album, go with "Now and Forever" or "Switchblade Serenade". This album is a re-release of their debut from back in 2003 and it's a band trying to find their sound. When I met the lead singer earlier this year, I had her sign the original debut album. She was surprised I had it, laughed, and told me that it's not very good. When the lead singer tells you their album sucks, you know it won't be good. Having said that, it's an interesting album to check out, but I bought the re-issue simply for the DVD, which features all of their videos.

Stryper has returned with a re-recording of a bunch of songs from their first three albums. The first track "Loud and Clear" lets you know immediately that this isn't a half-baked attempt to cash in on their past glories. Most tracks on here either honor what the past was and several times surpass their previous recordings. Crisper drums, bass you can actually hear, and Michael Sweet's voice, while still as powerful as ever, has deepened with age and offers a richness to the songs that was not previously available. Absolutely check out this release if you're a fan. If you've never known their music, then this is the place to start.
