I bought this to replace earbuds for my Sony Walkman and thought (mistakenly) that this was a good brand...boy, was I wrong! Sound weak and tinny...bass sound is nonexistent...even after attempts to balance with the Walkman's graphic equalizer! Will use as last resort only!

A truly inspirational war movie about a Medal of Honor winner who never carried a gun! A truly magnificent act of bravery and a story well worth telling. The movie never bogs down, moving quickly with character development to set up the action. The battle scenes in the second half are excellent and gritty. Gibson has never left much to the imagination so there is a fair amount of gore.

Lousy clown is killed in a terrible accident by mean kids at a birthday party and returns years later to exact his revenge. Sounds like a typical slasher movie but there is a darkly (sick?) sense of humor involved here. The gore and killings are all here but with a clown-like twist to the proceedings. Best viewed with a raucous crowd for ultimate laughs.

Beware, not a typical monster movie

While I purchased this movie thinking it was your basic monster movie, it falls into a different category instead. This is a character study, where the situations men are put in make monsters of them. This resembles many Vietnam movies in this respect...but with monsters. In this case, the movies on Vietnam were better at this type of character study. I'll give the movie credit for the attempt but I will not praise it because it has been done better.

Creepy but beware...found footage

While I liked this movie I know that many people don't like found footage movies...jumpy camera shots and bad angles make these types of movies rough (or maddening) for some people. But there are some creepy scenes and a few jump scares as well as an interesting twist near the end to make the movie fun...but not great.

Another Del Toro visual gem

Take a story about a girl who marries the brother of a creepy brother-sister duo and have her live in their creepy, decrepit mansion...right!...nothing particularly original but solid nonetheless. Then add Del Toro and you have a movie that is visually stunning! While the story seems a bit rushed, the mansion's design is incredible and the ghosts, while few, are pretty jarring and not for the faint-hearted. A solid B to B+ movie.

Euro-Metal with classical/operatic stylings

Let me begin by saying that the sound is huge: keyboards, orchestrations, guitars and vocals. The songs are very melodic but some may consider them overblown to a certain degree and, at some point, it all may sound a bit repetitive. All instruments are subservient to the songs so there are very few solos for a metal album. If you like your metal a bit rawer, this may not be for you.

A favorite '50s 'Creature Feature'

This is a typical, low-budget 'B' movie with one of the better monsters. It's a short movie, just over 70 minutes, and it gets going real quick so you have to identify the characters as you go along. The monster shows up several times but most of the action is off screen. If you grew up watching Saturday 'Creature Feature' movies you should like this, if not, it may not be for you.

Keeping 'Traditional Heavy Metal' alive

A solid effort from a traditional metal band. Their cover of Judas Priest's 'Running Wild' is a good description of their style and sound. It's all there, good riffs, good solos, good singing...could use a little bit more in the songwriting department at times, though, but it's still pretty good.
