My old laptop was dying, and unfortunately I waited too long to get a Windows 7 machine. Being forced to 'upgrade' to windows 8, I knew from others that I wanted a touch screen. This laptop was the best combination of specs that offered a touch screen and full HD display. The major drawback seems to be the lack of a SSD for rapid boot, but it's still pretty quick to fire up. The battery life is pretty darn good. So much so that I don't usually bring the charger with me when heading out to the coffee shop, library, or elsewhere for several hours of typing and internet. I've used it for 4 hours without running out of battery, but haven't tested the extreme yet because I haven't needed to.
