This was great. Fun to watch it again. Good movie for your monster collection. First iteration of monsters being sexy. Predecessor to Underworld and Twilight. And the outfits & hair from the 80's are awesome!
This is a classic. A little bit of kids movie mixed in with a little scary movie. The monsters are not up to snuff with today's CGI and animatronics. But they were fantastic when the movie came out. And if you are buying this, you probably watched it as a kid. So enjoy it. If you didn't watch this as a kid. Take the early stages of special effects and then enjoy it.
It's a comedy with Sacha Baren Cohen is one of the main characters. Expect stupid humor and you should be just fine. Admittedly SBC backs off a little and that is a good thing. If you can stomach SBC get it. If you can't, then don't. This is a good movie for stupid movie weekends.
Certainly an interesting story including zombies and love. Fun mental dialogue by main character. Worth picking up and adding to your collection just to re-watch as the mood strikes.
Not a musical. But an excellent movie about music and those who live it. It is a little hard to take the abuse the main character takes from someone trying to mold him to be better. But the story is really good and the music is lots of fun. The movies shows how much work goes into making fantastic music.
I really like John Cusack as an actor. While this movie has very good CGI the idea of JC as an action hero doesn't always work for me. So . . . think of him as a Dad who's trying to do the right thing and protect his family in extraordinary circumstances. And it is more plausible. Outside of that one issue, the movie is an interesting take on the end of the world and the few who will survive it. I enjoyed it.
All hell breaks loose when a motorcycle stuntman named Johnny Blaze (Nicolas Cage) sells his soul to Mephistopheles (Peter Fonda), an alter-ego of the Devil himself. This double feature follows Blaze through two films: Ghost Rider and Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.
I'm assuming anyone buying this knows and likes Ghost Rider. And if you do, then this is entertaining. If you don't know and like Ghost Rider already. You may not like this. It's a good couple of movies at a great price either way.
These two are a great duo. Fun movie. Dwayne is stretching his acting wings in this. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes it comes across as very strange (but not intended). Ultimately a very good comedy.
I watched all the reviews and listened to friends who said it was great. After all that I was still caught off guard by the movie. It's a very unique story. Extremely well told. Disturbing at times. - (like most families the dynamics are weird - but this family is to the extreme end - both immediate and extended) Fascinating movie and interesting discussion points. I loved it.
I really liked the Maze Runner books. More than the Hunger Games. I think they do a really good job in this movie with capturing some of the books scale and intensity.
