I got this double feature on sale and found both films to be good sci-fi monster movies. The plot of both films are fairly predictable, but that's okay. Nothing real complicated, just straight forward science fiction entertainment.
I love these movies, have the entire set of the Hobbit & L.O.T.R. they follow the books well enough and are enjoyable to watch, if rather lengthy. But if you are a fan the lengthiness isn't really an issue. The special effects are great.
This release compiles all thirteen episodes from the debut season of Helix, a science-fiction series that focused on a team of scientists from the center for disease control who travel to the Arctic in order to investigate a possible outbreak of a deadly virus, only to uncover a much larger threat to humans.
It's a good monster movie, not scary. The monsters are interesting but it would be nice to see more of them. Like it's predecessor it's a different kind of monster movie. The pace is slow. If you are looking for lots of adventure and a rip roaring film this probably isn't for you.
Wasn't sure what this one was about to be honest. I picked it up because Christopher Lee was in it and it's touted as a classic. It's frightening in-so-far as it shows how easily people can be led down a path by someone else when they allow themselves to be.
This set contains {#The Exorcist) in both its original theatrical cut and the extended director's cut, Exorcist II: The Heretic, The Exorcist III, Exorcist: The Beginning, and Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist.
Nice to have the box set with all the different movies for this series. Had seen the first and third movies but not the others. The second film is okay but I found the other movies in the series to be more interesting.
In this update of Washington Irving's classic tale, Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) wakes up in the 21st century but finds his 18th-century nemesis, the Headless Horseman, has also come along for the ride. After a local sheriff (Clancy Brown) is killed, Crane teams up with Det. Abbie Mills (Nicole Beharie) to sort out the mystery and its historical implications, though her supervisor, Capt. Frank Irving (Orlando Jones) is skeptical of all the supernatural shenanigans. And as Season 1 unfolds, these otherworldly events include encounters with menacing demons, frightening explorations of purgatory and impending visits by the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
I've been looking for this movie for a while. I loved it as a kid and thought it was so cool. Little did I know - watching it now I found it slightly amusing with no little to no plot & acting that was not the greatest. However from a nostalgia point it was fun & reminded me of a simpler time. Hokey B-movie fun if you are looking for something mindless to watch.
