Good inexpensive case

I was offered a promotion for a free accessory for my iPhone 8. I already had a pretty good silicone case but I figured I'd try this one since it was free. I do like this one a bit better. It has a rubbery feel but slides in and out of your pocket better than my other one. It doesn't feel as protective as my other one but I'm ok with the trade off. This case went on fairly easy and seems to come off easy for those times I don't want to use it. Only complaint is the cutaway for the mute button is slightly off center (see pic). Maybe this was done by design but it seems like a defect. It does make it harder to adjust the mute button so no 5 stars from me. When the case arrived, it said "iPhone 7" but is supposed to fit 8 too.

I grabbed this while it was on sale over the Xmas holiday. Great price for a company that has a lot of expensive furniture. It is a simple yet very nice looking stand that was pretty easy to put together. I put it in our vacation home with a 54" TV (see pic) that fits fine. The wood is dark brown but not as dark as expresso.

I got this for our vacation home as I was not going to pay the local cable company to rent theirs each month. The speed offered is plenty for our house. Set up was very easy...there really isn't much to a modem. Like others have said it does get a little warm so I would give it some breathing room. It is very lightweight and feels cheap but it seems to be doing a fine job so far.

I got this router for our vacation home. I didn't need anything expensive or extremely fast. Set up was a little tricky. Our devices would see the network but would not connect. I played around with the settings online and changed one setting that was either on/off by default (I can't recall now) and that did the trick. There weren't many instructions for this part but luckily I have some experience and found the error. Our devices (multiple) have had little problems connecting and the speed is very good.

Excellent upgrade in the D7xxx line

I bought this a week or two after it was released as an upgrade to my D7100. While the D7100 has been great, the D7500 is a very worthy upgrade. I considered the D500, the D750, and waiting for Nikon's new full frame releases but ultimately decided crop frame is still right for me at this point. The D7500 is basically the little brother of the D500, which (from what I've read) is incredible and bumped the D7200 as Nikon's new top crop frame camera. However for me, the D500 was too big, lacked a pop up flash, and was almost the same cost as some of their FF cameras.
Pros:
1. New sensor (same as the D500). The colors and sharpness are excellent...noticeably better than my D7100. The noise and autofocus are considerably better too. There's also a new group focus point option and auto fine tune that I'm still experimenting with.
2. Lighter and slightly smaller than the D7100. Much easier to carry around.
3. It's FAST!....much faster than my D7100.
4. Rear touch screen that also tilts...comes in handy. Had that in my first DSLR (D5100) and it's nice having it back, especially for video.
5. 4K video and wi-fi/bluetooth. Haven't taken full advantage of 4K video yet but even the 1080 looks better than my D7100. I can now upload pics if I want on the fly (takes a few steps but great option to have). To save battery I leave it on airplane mode until I want to upload.

Others have complained that you cannot put a battery grip on it. This was not a big deal for me. Nikon also dropped the total megapixels and reduced the monitor resolution from the D7200 and D500. These changes will not even be noticeable to most users.
The last thing to consider is some editing programs (Lightroom and Photoshop in particular) have not added this camera profile to their software yet. Therefore, they will not recognize the NEF's or JPG's from this camera. This has been an inconvenience for me b/c to view and edit my photos, I've had to open the RAW files in Nikon Capture NXD (which is free), convert them to TIFFs, and then import into Lightroom where I can then work on the files. It usually takes Adobe some time (a month or two) to do this so I expect an update to be coming soon.

Nice coffee maker...but overpriced

I'm a few weeks into using this Bunn coffee maker and while it is pretty good, I have not been wowed. The coffee is hot...but not much hotter than my previous 5 year old Cuisinart 4 cup maker that it replaced. The coffee is good...but again, not a whole lot better than my previous one. I really like the looks of this Bunn and their customer service has been great (I had to call during set up). I also like that it has a reservoir that keeps water hot so the coffee brews pretty fast even though this isn't a big deal for me as I only make 20 ounces (half carafe). The warranty is really good too.
The unit is very simple to operate and the carafe is great...no spills. Pouring the water in the top is easy because it's up front and the cover is large and easily swings out of the way. You MUST read the directions when you get it out of the box. Before plugging it in, you have to fill the reservoir with a specified amount of water. Water is always keeping hot in the reservoir and when you add more water to it when making coffee, that new water displaces the old and your coffee brews. It is way different than your standard coffee maker but it was a fairly easy process once you read the directions.
My main complaint (and I will be calling them for help) is often times when I put the 20 ounces of water in, I get less coffee brewed. Sometimes, it's 8 ounces, sometimes it's 10 or 12, and today it was about 16. Sometimes it brews the exact amount. The instructions say that water can evaporate off so you'll need to put more water in but this is a major hassle. I often have to add more water to get the desired amount of coffee. The instructions and sales rep I spoke to said the minimum amount of water is 20 ounces. I used to be fine with 12-14 ounce large mug but now I have to make more. So, I'm going through coffee quicker and it takes me more time in the morning when I'm in a hurry to leave for work. Another minor complaint is the reservoir heating element is fairly loud. As I was typing this, it came on and I could hear it in our office about 20 feet away. Not a huge deal.
Yes, this is a pretty good coffee maker...but it is way overpriced. I had rewards to use and they price matched another online business so I was able to defray the cost...luckily, because I would have returned it had I had to pay full price. That is just way too expensive for a coffee maker with a household with only one coffee drinker.

Denon doesn't disappoint

Now, I am biased as this is my 3rd Denon receiver in 20-25 years but I found myself in the market for a new one recently when a storm took out the HDMI functionality of my 8 year old AVR 789. The remote is great (much better than the 789), setup was easy, and of course it is plenty powerful for my 7.1 + Zone 2 home theater system. Three year warranty awesome too. I did use the auto calibration but was not happy with the results. I could have spent the time to recalibrate but decided to trust my own ears. I do wish that at this price point, Denon (and other manufacturers) would include digital out to Zone 2 but they don't so I once again have to find a workaround via converters. At least now I have the option of using Bluetooth to Zone 2 and network connectivity (wired and wifi), options that weren't readily available when I bought my last one. Looking forward to many more years with this great receiver.

Great all around lens

I was seeking a new zoom lens to replace my Nikon 55-200 VRi with my D7100. I didn't really need something wide (have the Tokina 11-20) and the research boiled down to this lens. It has not disappointed. It is a little on the heavy side but I don't mind that because to me it feels more well built than my very light and cheap feeling 55-200 it is replacing. The zoom ring is a bit tight and not consistent throughout the zoom and it will "creep" while you're carrying it unless you engage the handy lock switch. But these aren't huge deals for me.
The image quality is very good, especially at higher F stops (8, 11, etc.). It does ok in low light too but of course the 35mm 1.8 or 50mm 1.8 are much better in these cases. I considered the newer 55-200 VRII but gave this a try when I found it on sale at BB. (I lucked out in that one of my local Best Buys was closing and some merchandise that was not going to the newer store was on sale at really good prices). At full price, I would probably say it would not be worth it as 3rd party lenses or the Nikon 55-200 would be a better buy...at least for what I use it for. It is nice to have that wide focal range but you pay for it and it may be quite heavy to use as an all day walk around lens. For the same $ (or most likely less), you can buy the Nikon 35mm or 50mm which give excellent image quality, are cheap, and very lightweight and the Nikon 55-200 which is also light, cheap, and has good image quality.

This is my first Keurig and waited until they had more K cup options (i.e. Starbucks). I also waited until it was on sale as I don't think the unit was worth its original price. I bought it to be used at my job due to its convenience, so it's not my main coffee maker. While I like it, I don't think I'll be buying one for home anytime soon. My routine of grinding beans once or twice a a week and using a small standard brewer is working fine.
This unit brews fast and the taste and temperature are great. Easy to use, clean, and fill up. My only complaint is this and many models in this price range do not have a 12 ounce option, which is what I tend to use at home (large mugs). So, I've either had to settle for 10 oz or brew a 6 oz, open the lid, and re-brew another 6 oz on strong using the same K cup. Not even sure why they have 4 and 6 oz. Who drinks that small of a cup of coffee!

I got this to replace an old tube TV for our kids' playroom. I considered a Smart TV but realized I'd be putting some type of streaming device in anyway since I had run Ethernet cable to the room. Plus, in this price range, the Smart interfaces I've seen weren't that great. Guess I'm partial to streaming devices.
So far this TV looks and performs great. The remote is easy, even for my kids, and the menus easy to access and modify. As far as picture quality, we really only use it to stream Netflix and play Nintendo Wii U. We don't watch any Blu Rays or HD cable TV. The sound is pretty good too...for a 32" tv. I was not expecting a full bassy sound from them. I had to play with the picture controls a bit but am satisfied with the quality for now.
I caution giving many electronic devices 5 stars nowadays because I've seen lots of 5 star reviews for devices that have failed months or a few short years later after the review. Rarely do people go back to update their review. I have had mostly good experiences with other TV companies but it's been a while since I've gotten anything from Sharp. But I trusted their name more than others that were on sale at my local Best Buy and didn't feel the need to pay a little more for a Samsung. Time will tell if it holds up. But it is a great looking TV for the $.

how well does this camera work in low light situations without a flash, such as in a church?
The D7500 is excellent in low light but an equally important factor is the lens you use. The Nikon 35mm 1.8 and 50mm 1.8 are both under $200 and do incredibly well in low light (I have both). I've gotten very good results around f2.8. So, if you can find a lens with 1.8 or 2.8 as the widest aperture, you'll be able to take great shots indoors.
