I've never been a huge fan of Muse but this was such a great deal that I picked it up. It sounds amazing on my sound system. It's so clear with lots of thumping bass and cool arpeggio synths. I'm pleasantly surprised how good this was actually.
Don't get me wrong. I love Godzilla but it was fun to see something different. Most of the movie is cheesy but it's still fun to watch and some of the special effects are pretty good. I didn't love it enough to watch the sequel yet which was included so it's a great value. Maybe someday I'll watch it.
Great character development, humor, realistic war scenes and romance are all mixed with perfect proportions making this a great watch. If you're squeamish, you may want to avoid it. It made my stomach churn more than Saving Private Ryan did and that was the worst war depiction I'd seen before Hacksaw Ridge.
This movie creeps me out but I can't stop watching it. I was drawn into it the first time about 20 years ago after watching the dueling banjos scene. After that I was hooked. The blu-ray looks great. First time I've seen it in hi-def.
For a remaster, I thought this CD would sound much better. Don't get me wrong, it sounds good but I expected better. Granted it is an old CD but that's now excuse. Dire Straits first album is older than this but the remastering sounds fantastic. It's crisp and clear. War is a great CD so even though it doesn't sound incredible, the music is great so it's somewhat forgivable.
I like this movie. I didn't love it. I did however love the sound and picture from the blu-ray. Those things alone make it a really fun picture to hear and see. And heck for $5, it's worth being able to experience those sensations over and over again whenever I feel like it.
